Thanks for stopping by to find out more about our funding project and how you can help. Make sure to click the link at the right, "see full bio" to find out more about us and our band, Brown Bottle Fever. Below are the details of our goal we hope you can help us achieve with your generous support. Your pledges will help produce the event of a lifetime! The completion date of our project is Feb 2 and our funding period ends Jan 9 so we don’t have much time!
We have been an unsigned Independent blues band since 2008. We have one of the most unique brand of blues you will ever find! Some say we play rock music, some say jazz, some say funk but that blues base is always there! We have been working our butts off for 4 years writing all original lyrics and songs playing any gig we can to pay the bills. We have made countless short-term sacrifices for (what we hope are) long-term gains.
Every year since 1984 there is this huge blues competition in Memphis, Tennessee called the International Blues Challenge. The IBC is the world's largest gathering of Blues acts representing an international search by The Blues Foundation and its hundreds of Affiliated Organizations all over the world for the Blues Band and Solo/Duo Blues Act ready to take their act to the international stage, but just need that extra break. With your help, we hope to win the International Blues Challenge!
The 29th International Blues Challenge is Jan 28-Feb 2, 2012. We are asking for your help to get to the IBC. We have already qualified regionally as we are representing the Decatur Blues Society but now need to pay for our way to the big show. This could be the one big break we have been working so hard to get! Your investment will help fuel our drive and passion to be the best Blues Duo ever! This is a once in a lifetime event and you can help fulfill our dreams!
We are going to be competing against other bands from around the world for cash, prizes, and industry recognition but we need help covering expenses for lodging, food, gas (yes we will be driving there from St. Louis in our awesome van), and promotional items (t-shirts, stickers, CDs, etc). We are asking for $5,000 to fund our project (we can send a detailed expense report to anyone that asks). All the money raised is going towards our week in Memphis….we are basically going ALL-IN to win this competition! With your help, we can rise to the top of the International Blues scene in just one week!
For more information on the International Blues Challenge and the Blues Foundation, visit www.blues.org. You can see our entry bio under the "current entrants" tab of the IBC page under the "solo/duo" category next to Decatur Blues Society.
We just invested in a new website so we can look super professional for the IBC (website still being tweaked) so all our extra funds are spent. With your generosity you can help support a hard-working, blue collar blues band that is looking to rock the stage of this International competition in hopes of getting that major record deal we have been starving for!
Thanks for your time and consideration as this competition means the world to us!
All the best,
Zach and Billy

Risks and challenges
We have been touring around the Midwest, West, and Southern regions since 2008 all on our own. We have booked our own shows, paid our own way, covered our own expenses. We are two very proud, young, starving musicians who know how hard it is to get a record deal. With our experience on the stage, we feel we are primed to conquer this challenge of winning the IBC!
We are taking a major risk by spending all our money on this one competition. The challenge which lies before us is out-performing all these other national and international blues acts. There are no chumps at the IBC. Everyone had to earn the right to perform in Memphis so we know we are competing with the best of the best in the blues world. With our original lyrics and unique sound we are poised to win the IBC...we just need a little help getting there!
Even if we don't win the IBC, you never know who we will meet there or who will be watching in the crowd. Winning the IBC is the best case scenario as the accolades and guaranteed bookings are sure to get us signed, but even if we don't finish first we think there is still a chance to get signed after the competition due to all the "big wigs" of the blues industry attending this yearly event. All we need is a chance so please, please help us get there!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
