WHY THE NOW PLANNER
For the woman who has a lot to do. For the woman who wants to dream. For the woman who wants to simplify her life. For the woman who wants to move forward.
This planner is for you
For the woman who wants a beautiful planner but doesn’t have the money to buy an expensive luxury planner or the time to decorate.
This planner is for you. The beautiful and simple black-and-white theme throughout the planner means you can enjoy the layout of a luxury planner but with a discount.
For the woman who needs to see everything visually of when things fall on her day.
This planner is for you.
For the woman who writes a lot of things down but can never find her notes, because they’re on scrap pieces of paper, on the computer, on her phone, and in random notebooks.
This planner is for you.
For the woman who is gifted, but may not know how to use those gifts in her current living situation.
This planner is for you.
For the woman who knows the future belongs to her, but wants to start living now.
This planner is for you.
Because what if a planner could be so much more than a planner? What if you could actually use it and it could help you get things done? What if you no longer had to write on random sheets of paper or half-used notebooks when you had a thought or a task? What if, instead, everything was always in one place? What if the goals you made, you could actually complete?
The Now Planner is an all-in-one planner that gives you space to dream, plan, and doodle, while also compiling a grocery list and knocking out your to-do list. In the beginning, there’s worksheets to help you develop your goals, your priorities, your routines, and your schedule. The weekly layout has hourly space starting at 6am and going until 10pm, with space for the important to-do’s you need to get done that day. So no longer do you have to worry about cramming in your early morning routines or your evening social events in the margins.
It’s also a more affordable option of what some people may call a luxury planner (hardback, wire binding, gorgeous, but pricey). We do this by completing some of the process in-house, as well as allowing you to add color to the planner yourself (color is great, but the cost adds up on pages and pages!)

Who we are: My name is Kim Jansen, and I started the creative business Words on Paper at the beginning of the year to carry out the vision that women have the capability to do great things in this world, especially with the right tools. I’m a self-proclaimed doodler and write-things-downer, so I never mock a woman who still enjoys pen and paper.
Words on Paper is a small but passionate operation, and I’m excited to see how we can best serve people as we grow.
Mission Statement: Our goal is that our products will empower creativity, inspiration, and changing the world, one small solved problem at a time.
Why I made this planner: I love writing things down. I use the calendar on my phone a lot, but I’ve found that I naturally remember things better when I write them down instead of typing them in (I mean, a little better, I still have a terrible memory). I use my planners to write down appointments, to-do lists, and big events. But a lot of planners didn’t have a lot of space for both, and almost none of them had hour slots starting early enough or going late enough. I have things going on in the morning and the evening, sometimes more than I have during the day, and I had to squeeze those things in the margins. And then I also write down ideas and thoughts and to-do lists and meal plans in random pieces of paper or in random notebooks, and then I lose them. Instead of having multiple places to write down my many things, I wanted somewhere I could keep everything. And then let’s talk about goals. Setting goals are really important, but it’s easy for me to forget what I even want to do if I don’t have my goals in front of me. So those were my problems.
And I thought that other women would have the same problems I did, and other women still would want the best tools possible to live their best lives. We’re all busy these days: we may be in school, have kids, a career; we may building a business and simply juggling a whole mound of things. We need something to help us simplify, but also to dream and to realize how we can make a difference.
And let’s be honest. We’ll always have to-do lists, that’s why I’ve created weekly space for them. But you are more than a to-do list, and your life is more than completing tasks. So I make sure that you are able to spend time figuring out what matters most to you in life, so that you can concentrate on the important and let go of the rest.
This planner does that.

Shipping info: All Early Bird Planners will ship out mid-November ($30 pledges). The next wave will ship beginning of December ($35 pledges and some $40 pledges). Any remaining planners will ship beginning of January and will be undated so that you will not miss out on any of your planning needs. We will create and mail the planner in the order we receive them, so the sooner you jump on the better!
What will you do with the funds from Kickstarter: We'll use the funds to buy the materials and supplies needed to assemble the planners, as well as grow the business's reach to fund the next planner launch.
This project can also be found at http://kickingitforward.org, where lot's other of great projects are featured.
Risks and challenges
We don't foresee too many risks with this project. We've been ordering samples of various products to make sure we get exactly what we're expecting when we make those large orders. Since we do a lot of the work in-house, we won't get held up on the planners, and if one gets messed up, we can fix it right away instead of having to send for a new one.
We will be ordering extras of certain supplies to avoid any problem, and we will order supplies as early as we can (so the sooner the planner gets funded the better) to avoid back order.
Because the business is new and small and it's crunch time before Christmas, we've kept the possible number of backers relatively small to make sure we can deliver what we promise to our backers before we launch the planner line.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
