THE MISSION IS ALREADY UNDERWAY!
STAR RAIDERS completed principle photography in August, 2014, but post-production is running $40,000 over budget. The movie's edited and is better than we hoped it would be, but we can't release it without the visual fx.
If we can raise $20,000 in this kickstarter, we get to finish the movie... and if we raise more, we can make it everything we always dreamed it could be.
The footage looks amazing!
But there are hundreds of visual effects shots and full green screen environments that require a great deal of time and money. That’s where you come in…
We need your support today to make this film the best it can possibly be. If we don't raise the minimum $20,000, we won't get the money to finish the film.
Our initial goal of $20,000 will get us through our visual effects process, but every extra dollar we raise beyond that goal will help us tackle many other post production expenses to greatly improve the final product.
HOW IT WORKS
As a Backer you will pledge an amount associated with a special reward. If we get enough combined pledges at the end of our 30-day Kickstarter campaign that meet our $20,000 goal, then the credit cards of all those who pledged are charged and we receive the finances to complete our film. If we do not reach our goal, then no money is withdrawn from your account and no rewards will be issued. However, If we exceed our $20,000 goal the extra funds will be utilized to take the project to even greater heights! Keep in mind, we are not looking for charity, but people interested in becoming a part of the Star Raiders family.

In all things entertainment, there must be creative vision. But before creative vision, there must be inspiration… and inspiration comes from something we’ve experienced that has left a lasting impression in our hearts and minds.
For STAR RAIDERS, Writer/Director Mark Steven Grove was inspired by the classic serials of the 1930’s and 1940’s (Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers), and the outer space and atomic age films of the 1950’s (This Island Earth, Forbidden Planet).
Mark has been actively working in the film industry for over 25 years as an actor, stuntman, stunt coordinator, prosthetic makeup artist, pyrotechnician, special effects supervisor, historical consultant, writer, producer, and director. Will Beckingham is plays plays the intimidating character RYLL in the film, but his hard demeanor was so intense it was obvious that he was the perfect person to take on the behind the camera role of 1st Assistant Director... we are still not sure which aspect of his work on the film was scarier.
Adam Lipsius is the director/producer of “16-LOVE” and the writer of two features for the Asylum. Adam produced the Star Raiders film and has been instrumental in managing post production and guiding the project into distribution with a strong possibility of developing it into a television series. Adam also plays ADMIRAL STEELE, the leader of the Terran Space Armada...with the right donation, you can outrank him!

Michael Sanchez is an amazing director of photography who has worked with Mark Grove on many projects. Michael is especially solid with handheld action, which was very useful running through the forest while filming the action for Star Raiders.
Patrick De Leon is a visual effects wizard who has amazing technical skills, but his real gift is his artistic mind, capable of breathing life into sci fi and fantasy worlds. Equally talented as a sculptor and costumer, Patrick is also responsible for a few of the creatures, props, and costumes seen in Star Raiders...and yes...he plays a bug alien in the film.
Risks and challenges
Making a film is a complicated process with many unforeseen challenges that cause budgeting and scheduling overruns – especially when complex VFX are in play. That said, our team is very experienced and we have successfully completed and released films before, so we are confident that this film will follow that same course. The best part is STAR RAIDERS is largely complete, so the majority of the risk has already been mitigated, allocating the funding we receive to completing and polishing an already amazing project.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
