AstonRep Theatre Company needs your help to finish their season! We are in need of funding for our upcoming production of the powerful Pulitzer-prize-winning play, Doubt opening April 5th, and our 4th Annual Writer's Series fostering up and coming talented playwrights of Chicago and their works!
Your gracious donation would help to cover the many essential production costs such as theater rental, writers, costumes, props, set design, marketing, lighting, administrative costs, etc.
"What do you do when you're not sure?" Father Flynn asks in the opening line of this drama set in 1964 in a Catholic grade school in the Bronx. His colleague, Sister Aloysius, suspects him of sexual misconduct with the school's first African American student. She faces a gravely drastic decision: openly accuse a higher-up without firm evidence, or bury her suspicions and leave room for doubt. Doubt offers an honest and timely examination of the ambiguous line between gossip and truth, justice and compassion, right and wrong, certainty and doubt. In the intimate confines of the Boho Theatre at Heartland Studio in Rogers Park, AstonRep Theatre Company is very excited to present an immediate, intimate telling of this story.
AstonRep will also be holding it's fourth Annual Writer's Series this spring. The Writer's Series is a full-day event of staged readings of new works by Chicago playwrights helping them initiate a voice and development for their new works. Donations would help greatly to keep this celebration of new works alive.
