The young Arhaal led a handful of heroes against the hordes of Uggud, the evil lord, trapping him forever in the Tower of Thul Bagar. The kingdom of Laar can finally enjoy the deserved peace. But on a different battlefield blazes now another war, more subtle and difficult to put down, made of plots and subterfuge, in which the only goal is to control as much power as possible.
Play as Viceroy, trying to expand your network of power, composed of various characters, and issuing authoritarian laws, all in order to gain absolute power.
Viceroy has been a great success of the Essen fair 2014, here we present to you the Italian game version licensed from Hobby World.
Viceroy is a game for 1-4 players the average duration of 45 minutes.

In Viceroy objective of the game is to accumulate more power points than the opponents.
You'll have to try to get the most out of your cards by playing them, if you can, in the higher levels of the pyramid of power. The game lasts exactly 12 rounds, just until you finish the cards in the large deck (createt at the beginning of the game, made of 48 cards randomly selected).
Each round is divided into two distinct phases. In both phases the players play simultaneously.
1. Auction Phase: Every player can acquire a Character card through an auction.
2. Development Phase: Every player can build 3 cards from is hand.
During the Auction Phase, each player secretly offers gems to acquire a character card.
Each card has a column in the auction area, which indicates the color of the gems that you can use to buy it. Players simultaneously reveal their bet. You can choose not to bet.
If a player is the only one to have wagered a color or has made the best offer, immediately take the card in the appropriate column.
If there is a tie, both players discard the gems they have bet. After, there will be a second auction round: only players who have not acquired the character cards and who have not already withdrawn can partecipate. In case of a further tie, there will be a third and final auction round.
After Auction Phase, cards left, go up to the second level of the auction area.
The auction area will be refilled drawing cards from the large deck (consisting of 48 cards, that has a timer function in the game). In the next auction phase, in case of a tie on the columns with 2 cards, the tied players can agree to split the cards (of course if the tie is only between two players), without losing any gems. After, the cards of the 1st auction level will go up and the cards still in the 2nd auction level, will be discarded.
In the Development Phase, each player can play up to three cards from his hand.
Simultaneously, each player chooses whether to play a card and places it face down in front of him. All players turn the cards and have to pay the cost depending on the level they are playing it on, then they gain the benefits. The same action is repeated three times. It is never mandatory to play cards, you can decide to skip part or all the phase.
All cards played during the game by a player are placed face-up in their pyramid. The player’s pyramids are not hidden behind the screens: they are always visible to all players. All cards in the pyramid should be placed side by side. The bottom row of cards is called the first level, the next one is called the second level, and so on up to the fifth level. Each card of the next level has to rest on two cards of the previous level in such a way that the colored sections of all three cards form a circle, the circle does not have to be of a single color, but managing to complete it successfully, you will earn a bonus gem of the corresponding color.
During the game, you cannot move or remove cards that are already part of the pyramid, unless the text of a law card permits you to do so. The pyramid cannot have more than five levels, although the length of its base is unlimited.
- Adjacent Cards: cards are considered to be adjacent even if they are placed on different levels. A card can be adjacent to up to six other cards.
- Card Placed Underneath: some of the law cards may instruct you to put a card underneath another card. This is not considered as playing a card. You do not have to pay any cost for a card that goes underneath another card and you do not get a reward for this card either.
- Free Cards: the outermost card in a row is considered a free card if there are no higher-level cards resting on this card and no cards put underneath this card.
The Character Cards are the base of your pyramid. Each character is unique and will give you different bonuses depending on the level where you place it, and then how you will pay for his services.
Character Costs and Rewards
Each character in the game will be placed on one of the levels, depending on the cost paid to play it. Higher levels will increase of one gem the cost of the card, also the positioning of a level rather than an other, will give different rewards, creating endless strategic possibilities for the players.
In the image below we highlight the incremental cost of the Captain card:
At Level one by paying a green gem, you will be grant you to draw a card from the law deck.
At Level two by paying a green gem and a blue, you will take 5 gems from the reserve.
At Level three by paying a green gem, one blue and one yellow, you will earn a magic marker.
At Level four by paying a green gem, one blue and two yellow, will provide you 12 power points.
If you play it on the fifth and final level of the pyramid you will pay it full plus one of the gems on the upper side of the card, but you can either choose the top 3 rewards simultaneously or directly earn 15 Power Points.
At the beginning of the game each player will draw 3 Law Cards.
During the game you can draw other Law Cards only through the rewards of Characters. Playing Law Cards is free and they can be placed in any empty space of the pyramid, except the fifth level. Immediately after being played, the effect of some Law Cards resolves. Depending on the card then, the effect can be single-use, continuous or it can be only activated at the end of the game.
Law Cards can't be removed, so they will rest in a player pyramid till the end of the game.
End of the game and scoring
When you'll draw for the auction phase the last 4 cards in the large deck, the last round is fired. At the end of the round you will calculate the Power Points as follows:

Shipping by mail to Italy costs simbolically 1 pound. For other Countries shipping cost will be shown after clicking the reward button. You can add insurance option to your shipment adding 3 pounds.
We will start to ship on June 2015 or as soon we will receive the games in our warehouse. We will ship games following the order date. Their completion will take a few days, depending on the amount of participants in the project. Shipments to the participants in the campaign will be made in advance than that to stores and Italian distributors, which will be made only on the following month.
Risks and challenges
Production. Rarely occur production delays out of our control and by our actions. For example there may be a technical problem printing the box or a delay of the supplier of the parts of the game. This fact should be taken into account. We will notify you promptly if something like that were to happen.
Shipments. Depending on the game, we ship by Postal service, Postal service insured or by Courier (DHL/GLS/Bartolini/SDA).
Shipments made by Courier or by Postal service insured can be tracked and are insured. Shipments made by Postal service without insurance can not be traced and, although it rarely does, it can happen that they delay or are lost. We recommend to those who want to avoid any problem to use the insured option or an alternative method, if available. If the game gone lost we will reship it only if you took the insurance option.
Shipments insurance doesn't cover any external damage to the box.
If the game will not be delivered because of your mistake (wrong address,recipient repeatedly absent, do not pick up the package after the passage of the courier, etc.), you will have to pay an additional shipping cost for re-send you the game. This cost will also include the return costs of the game. Otherwise, if we made an error, we will send it back at our expense.
