The recyclable brew pouch lets you start each brew with a fresh, sanitized environment, eliminating the need to clean and disinfect dozens of pots, buckets, siphons, tubes, and bottles. It is connected to wifi, has a CO2 monitoring system, and has the most advanced fermentation temperature control system on the planet. Oh, and you get to control everything from your phone.
You add the ingredients and the water, customize if desired, and BEERMKR delivers over a gallon—a 12-pack in fact—of commercial quality, ready to drink beer, in as little as 7 days.
Thanks to quick-disconnect valves and three isolated chambers, BEERMKR adds and removes ingredients at just the right time. Wort flows between the brewing chamber, the brew pouch, and the collection bin during the brewing phase. After brewing is complete, the grains and hops are removed from the brewing chamber and yeast is pitched in their place. Once fermentation is complete, the yeast falls into the third bin at the bottom of the device—leaving you with clean, delicious beer.
5 minutes is all it takes to start a batch of beer. Place your ingredients into the brewing chamber, insert the brew pouch, and fill the system with water. Press start on the app, and BEERMKR takes care of the rest.
Start a batch before you leave the house for the day, and by the time you get home, it's time to pitch the yeast. And don't worry, BEERMKR will send you a push notification so you know just when it's your turn to do something, like pitch yeast, add dry hops, or remove the beer for serving.
Over the next week BEERMKR ferments the beer. Its CO2 monitoring system tracks yeast activity and adjusts temperature automatically to match the profile for the yeast strain you are using. When your batch is done, BEERMKR will send you a notification to move your beer to the dispenser.
Every BEERMKR comes with a draft dispenser. When your beer is complete, remove the bag of finished beer from your BEERMKR and place it in the dispenser. Plug in the included CO2 cartridge and place the dispenser in your fridge. Your beer will be carbonated and ready to drink in 24 hours!

Thanks to the open system, you can add any ingredients you like—raspberries or sage from your garden, hops from your neighbor's yard, and even ingredients from your local homebrew shop.
The beer brewing process is a complex and fragile process that takes years of practice and countless hours of research to master. BEERMKR automates this process in an oxygen sealed environment with patent pending CO2 monitoring and temperature management systems. BEERMKR is connected to the BEERMKR Cloud which monitors your brew's progress. It compares your beer's performance to other successful batches and can make adjustments in real time if anything diverges, guaranteeing professional-grade results without any additional input from you.
This allows both beginner and veteran brewers to relish in the fun parts of brewing: exploring ingredients and flavor combinations, and drinking the finished beer.
Traditional home brewing requires kettles, fermenters, mash tuns, pumps, sanitizers, cleaners, tubes, capers, kegs or bottles. The list goes on and on.

During the brewing phase, every component in the system reaches pasteurization temperatures. This means your entire brew is sanitized for the life of the beer, from brewing to fermentation to serving. When finished, throw the brew chamber and yeast collection bin into your dishwasher, and grab a new brew pouch to get BEERMKR ready for the next batch.
This means you will never have to sanitize a single piece of equipment. Ever.
BEERMKR's CO2 monitoring system tracks yeast activity and beer progression by measuring CO2. When yeast eat 1 sugar molecule, they produce a fixed amount of alcohol, CO2, and other flavor compounds. Therefore, if you know how much CO2 has been produced, you know how much alcohol is in the beer. BEERMKR is continually measuring CO2 production and reporting back to the BEERMKR app. This gives you a real time view into the alcohol content and maturity of your beer.
BEERMKR is the only small form factor brewer available that manages both brewing and fermentation. No other brewers manage yeast and fermentation. Yeast make beer, and without yeast, beer would just be non-alcoholic hoppy sugar water. For yeast to create the plethora of flavors and alcohol that they do, they must be at a very specific temperature.
There are hundreds of strains of yeast, each with their own unique flavor profile that is only achievable within a strict temperature range for each stage of the fermentation process. If yeast are too warm, too cool, or under too much pressure, they will create undesirable flavors (i.e., classic "homebrew in the closet" flavors), or very little flavor at all (resulting in a bland beer).
When you start a recipe in the BEERMKR app, the optimal temperature profile is loaded automatically. With BEERMKR's CO2 monitoring system, it can detect when yeast move from stage to stage, and it will adjust the temperature automatically to keep the yeast in their optimal flavor-producing state.
With custom recipes, you have the ability to select which profile you wish to use, or even change the profile itself.
For traditional homebrewing setups, you're right—a week is not nearly enough time to produce good beer. However, 6 to 9 days from grain to glass is normal for commercial craft breweries. The difference is due to commercial craft breweries monitoring the fermentation progress closely and adjusting temperature multiple times to maximize yeast activity and minimize time spent in the brewery's fermenters.
BEERMKR uses the same yeast monitoring techniques and temperature management schedules as a commercial brewery. This produces flawless fermentations in a surprisingly short time frame.
BEERMKR is the only automated brewing system to allow no restrictions in hop additions. You can add as may varieties as you choose, for whatever hop schedule you choose. All of the hops are added at once to the brewing chamber and the system heats up to pasteurization, starch conversion, and whirlpool temperatures (150 F / 65 C). This temperature extracts all of the oils out of the hops as well as their other flavor compounds. Because BEERMKR uses Steam Hops in addition to raw hops, the of hop flavor, aroma, and bitterness combinations are endless.

Steam Hops has developed a new hop processing technique which isomerizes the alpha acids while also volatilizing the low temp oils like myrcene. This gives Steam Hops the same flavor and bitterness profile as if they've been boiled. Steam Hops can be produced in all gradations, resulting in individually packaged 10, 15, 30, or even 60 minute hop additions that can be used in the mash, whirlpool, or even in the fermenter and yield the same bitterness and flavor profile as if the hops had been boiled for 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes. This let's you the brewer use hops more like the way you use malts in the mash. All go in at once but different oils and bitterness come out.

BrewJacket launched Immersion in 2013 to allow space-constrained beer brewers the ability to control fermentation temperatures without giant refrigerators or custom thermostats. The technology in Immersion that enables thousands of brewers around the world to ferment perfect lagers and ales is what inspired BrewJacket to create BEERMKR.
Immersion's Kickstarter campaign was funded in June 2014 and was a groundbreaking step in solid state fermentation management technology. After lots of feedback from brewers on Immersion, we began working on its next iteration, called Immersion Pro. We launched a Kickstarter for the Pro model in 2016 and it was an immediate success. Immersion Pro gave brewers a commercial-grade, temperature-controlled environment for their fermentations while not taking up any additional space in their home or brewery. We saw rapid adoption of Immersion Pro in high-profile craft breweries, yeast laboratories, and universities. Homebrewers who use Immersion Pro have won many medals in brewing competitions across the globe.
BEERMKR is the next iteration of the Immersion Pro technology. The solid state heat exchange technology we have refined over the past 5 years gives BEERMKR its ability to create commercial quality craft beer. By reducing the volume of beer being produced from 5 gallons (seen above in the carboy) to just over 1 gallon, we can dramatically reduce the material cost while adding features like wifi access and advanced monitoring technologies.
We’ve locked design on over 95% of components, with the majority of remaining work consisting of engineering details for scaled production. As of the launch of this campaign, we have 5 fully-functional units that will be displayed at Great American Beer Festival in Denver for the world to see. Over the past 2 years, we have produced a large number of physical prototypes, and have brewed over 500 batches of beer with BEERMKR prototypes. This constant iteration has resulted in rapid learning thanks to a few amazing discoveries hidden among some truly gruesome beasts.
Building all these monsters, failing, iterating, and building again is key to our success. We’ve continually brewed beer (with admittedly varying success) on every prototype we’ve constructed. The beer being made on the current BEERMKR is so exceptionally good that we’re confident that BEERMKR is ready to be released into the world.
We are passionate about BEERMKR, and cannot wait bring BEERMKR out of our shop and into the real world. But more importantly, we’re passionate about beer! Our ultimate goal is to bring more and more beer lovers into brewing and create a global beer brewing community.
Risks and challenges
BeerMKR is a hardware project that has completed both the R&D and design for manufacturing phases. Risks at this phase of product launch are primarily in the timing and logistics categories. Our drawings are complete and are in the hands of our manufacturers. Our metals, plastics, and electronics partners have worked with us for years and have built thousands of BrewJacket Immersion and Immersion Pro units.
New products require a lot of detail and small items can be missed, particularly during the assembly phase. Tolerances may need to be adjusted or angles changed on molds. These changes will be known during the sampling phase when we receive our first production outputs and have the potential to delay production in the order of weeks to months. However, these are normal challenges of manufacturing a new product.
