What is a prototype?

A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:

Proof of Concept

Explorations that test ideas and functionality.

Functional Prototype

Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.

Appearance Prototype

Looks like the final product, but is not functional.

Design Prototype

Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.

Production Prototype

Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.

Why Are We Here?

All earphones break. These ones don't!

Let us know if you can destroy them...

These earphones do not want to earn their name as the most advanced or stylish earphones. We are making earphones under $35 but just sound like $200 famous high-end headphones, earphones that support the weight of a car! Typical triple-hybrid-driver earphones usually cost $100 or more. Globally and averagely, people earn around $28 per day. (gobankingrates, 2018) Some may be happy to spend life's saving on a single pair but most are not. We start this project with a simple belief: no one should compromise with their craving for music. We want to do a surprisingly great job of blending an inexpensive price with quality features. We want to make something affordable and decent enough for everyone and help people in any part of the world listen really well on the strictest of budget.

Features and functions do not come cheap. We can guarantee that you will not see earphones as quality as these ones at this price and we are confident that no other manufacturer would be able to bring the same satisfaction and guarantee with a lower price. We are in the process of getting some major orders of our earphones produced. All the products will be done at the end of 2018. To make sure that we can bring these good and inexpensive earphones to people in any part of the world, our earphones are offered at cost to meet our final production goal.

Triple Hybrid Drivers Make Sense of Themselves

Each earphone has 3 impressive drivers: 2 dynamic drivers and 1 balanced armature drivers. How do these drivers create sound, I mean, differently? Sounds exist as waves in the world of vibrating. If you dare to do a little bit tear-down (better using a magnifier), you can see those small moving bits vibrating rapidly and pushing air around them. If we explain how dynamic and balanced armature drivers work in the language of physics, we will need to start with Fleming's left hand rule. That would be impossible here. However we would at least be able to let you know why we use two kinds of drivers in a single earphone case. Putting more and different drivers in a single earphone is about making the sound more accurate. No one really want louder sound. Each driver is custom tuned to manage a certain part of the frequency range and in this way lows, mids and highs are evenly and regularly balanced. Let's see who does what.

Let's make this more understandable. Dynamic driver creates sound as similar as a drum while balanced armature driver works in much the same way as a woodwind. Not exactly though. Balanced armature driver can be optimally tuned to sound good in a specific frequency range but dynamic driver, more traditional and popular in the earphone market, can cover the entire frequency range. No one can do all things. Dynamic driver holds better bass response and balanced armature driver has better treble performance. Then why not put them together? The graph below gives you an idea of how low the speaker can play compared to standard single-driver one.

Titanium Skin

Anything can be luxury if you use the right material. Each dynamic driver is coated with titanium which is commonly employed in precision engineering due to its highest strength-to-weight ratio. This thin coating of titanium ensures that the driver is both tough and sensitive at the same time and not going to break. In two words: strong, light. An ideal combination of qualities that do not always go hand in hand.

Double is Better

Each earphone also houses dual 6.3mm membranes and dual magnetic circuits. One can do the job but two can do better.

Size Matters

We are not going to say the bigger the size, the better the sound quality. An earphone with large drivers does not necessarily make it a good earphone. The bigger the size, the more powerful the output. But we actually do not have those huge ears... Think about putting a multi-room speaker in your ear. We have an appropriate driver diameter of 10mm, which is way enough to move a ton of air to make the earphone go.

Graphene is a Thing

Another superstar is the graphene diaphragm, the vibrating part. Why graphene? A big title like Nobel-prize winning material? More expensive than gold? That's not really the reason. Graphene is stronger than steel and thinner than paper, and best at electricity with electrodes moving at a speed of 1/300 of lightspeed. The lightweight profile allows it to move rapidly and act sensitively while the strong property keeps it unchangeable and unbreakable. Graphene diaphragm can be so strong and thin that it requires no or little external damping. 100 nanometer thin graphene has a load bearing weight of 2 tons. Unsurprisingly it can hold its shape in motions and vibrations.

(Note: a layer of carbon atoms in hexagon honeycomb structure.)

It's not Just Its Performance

We scientifically tested our earphone to give you a little more kick. We have a whole bunch of technical stuff here and we do want to gain your trust with data and analytics. Our earphone covers the audible range between 18 Hz and 22KHz and has a very low distortion across most frequency.

Nearly Indestructible

The earphone case is made out of zinc alloy which provides the combination of high strength and flexibility. Each case has gone through 20+ grinding and polishing processes and is uniquely crafted by hand to give a clean modern look. We literally took a car and a dog to test the earphone, and it survived both.

Are We out of the Game?

Why are we making wired earphones in this everything-wireless age? Sounds awesome but a bit weird? Are wired or wireless earphones better? Clearly both types deliver different benefits and the choice may come down to your lifestyle. If you just want to break up with cables for real and for no reason, then it's a really simple decision to make. Let's face it. Wireless earphones mostly use 2.4GHz Bluetooth that actually makes it hard for these seemingly more advanced earphones to match the sound quality of their wired counterparts. Any device that gives out a signal also gives out interference. Cable is here for a reason. A good reason.

OFC Cable

We are making the best cables. Pure oxygen-free copper wires provide much higher and more stable electrical conductivity and this fancy bulletproof cut-resistant Kevlar fiber can survive bullets and cuts. We are not really making up nonsense terms.

They Just Don't Fall out

We are all tired of adjusting earphones on our ears. We know not everyone fits the mold and one-size-fits-all earphones might be impossible. However these ones are ergonomically designed to wear around your ears to prevent falling. We have not tested them in marathon though. Simply take them back, bring them around your ears and Voilà! Music won't turn upside down. You can try the regular way as well.

No One is Lost

We don't really want to lose anyone. And we added a Bluetooth adapter to help some go wireless and a lightning adapter for some iPhone users.

What You Will Get

Each earphone package contains 6 pairs of soft silicone rubber tips to reduce the amount of pressure on your ear canal.

We Tend to Boast a Little

We are 25 sound and music nerds with 10+ years of experience in prototype design and mass production. Some of us know sound, some of us know design, most of us know physics, but none of us know how to take selfies. We decided to hide behind the screen and see how you are going to love our slightly-dorky-and-seemingly-antisocial earphones. If we are successful in getting funded, we will be able to deliver our product at the very beginning of 2019 and you don't have to wait another 6 months or longer.

Risks and challenges

We can guarantee that first shipment will go out no later than Feb 2019 if we successfully get funded. We are committed to meet your expectations without any possible delay in production or delivery. We rate the risk of unexpected delay as being very low.
