Matt DiGiovanna’s “Background Noise” focuses on bringing an old school approach to new music. Using simple, yet sophisticated, compositions as templates for free improvisation, Background Noise creates a unique, mature sound not often heard in young bands. The trio consists of Adam Kromelow on piano, Jason Burger on drums, and Matt DiGiovanna on saxophone. Each member brings a different set of influences, styles, and experiences to the table, all of which are reflected in the music.
We have recently recorded our first E.P. as a group and are putting together a tour of the west coast in September. This is where you, my friend, come in. We are trying to raise funds to get the album mixed and mastered. These are the final two steps that must be taken before an album can be released. We are also planning a week long tour from Orange County, California, all the way up to San Francisco and possibly into Nevada in September. This is something of a homecoming for me, as I moved from Los Angeles to New York City last year, and I'm very excited about the opportunity to share our music with family and friends!
Please listen above to one of the rough mixes from the session. It's a tune of mine called Unidentified Objects. Feel free to check out any of our websites, and don't hesitate to contact me for more information about the group, music, or project. Thank you very much!!
