Update #71: In honor of Andy, exciting news about “Be Here Now (The Andy Whitfield Story)"
To follow up on Vashti's beautiful message, in honor of Andy, I am sharing this quote with you, from the Los Angeles Film Festival.
We are so humbled and honored to win the Audience Award for Best Documentary and receive feedback like this, because we hope that it means that the film will be inspiring to all of us who have dreams and challenges, while shining a light on the need for cancer research – which is what Andy wished for.
In my previous update, I shared with you that while we are putting together the film's Cause Related Release, including with the help of committed cause related organizations, to make the biggest impact possible, we also hoped to bring it to festivals. Thank you for your emails, FB, Twitter and YouTube messages supporting our efforts – and for your messages to film festivals inquiring about the possibility of their presenting the film.
Next, although they have not yet announced their line up, you are the first to know that the film has been invited to the prestigious Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival in US Best Documentary Competition (October 9-18th).
And that’s not all. “Spring” seems to be in the air! As promised, we are also excited to let you know that we are working hard on putting together the film’s Cause Related Release, beginning in theaters, for this spring.
As always, we will be sharing more details very soon and will keep you updated on Hot Springs, other film festivals (we are looking to come to festivals overseas), and all new developments.
Of course, the most gratitude goes out to Andy and Vashti. It is an honor and gift to be able to tell their beautiful and inspiring love story – gently reminding us all that the journey may be more important than the destination.
Sent with big thanks, much love and deep admiration,
Lilibet and The Be Here Now Team
