We had a lot of questions about how the game controls so we've just updated the Kickstarter page with a How to Play video.

Epic Skater is a side scroller skateboarding game set in a variety of real world locations across the globe. The core focus of the game is taking the coolest elements of skateboarding to a very touch-intuitive interface that has all the challenge and responsiveness you'd expect from a console skateboarding game.
As your character progresses through cities, you will gain XP that will level up and improve your skater's in-game performance, as well as acquiring new tricks and special abilities along the way.
Our goal is to keep complete control of our vision in order to bring everyone the purest experience possible. Finding a publisher that doesn’t want to be involved in the game’s direction or design is difficult, and we want to be sure there is a direct line of communication between us and the fans.
Intuitive swipe controls, No "Virtual D-pad!"
Hold anywhere on-screen to go, and release to jump. Swipe in any of the 8 directions to perform 8 different tricks.
Drag-and-drop fully customizable button and trick interface allows you to unlock a long list of tricks, and map them to any combination of the 8 directions.
Hardcore players can unlock up to 2 new buttons to place on-screen. These buttons will add a new set of tricks each for a total of 24 total tricks that can be executed.

- Fully customize your music playlist in-game, or turn it off and jam to your own tunes!
- Drag-and-drop fully customizable button interface for trick mapping.
Epic Skater uses NVIDIA's PhysX physics engine that makes every run completely unique.
Video games, and especially Skate games are a great way to hear about new music. We're including a dynamic playlist of independent artists that changes based on your feedback.
Comprised of independent musicians, bands, and artists; the soundtrack is handpicked by the UpUpStart team and the Epic Skater community.

Sick of hearing a track? Turn it off from the playlist menu, and you’ll never hear it again!
We’ll be tracking and analyzing which songs are getting toggled off by users to help us determine which ones will be yanked out for the next update.
In a band; know a guy? Give us your music to publicly stream on the epicskater.com website. From there, we'll be running a poll to help us determine the top tracks to slide into the next update for Epic Skater's in-game soundtrack!
That depends on what you pledge in Epic Skater's Kickstarter campaign!
The rewards are all cumulative, so that means if you pledge $50, you'll get the $50 reward as well as the $45, $40, $35, $25, and $10 rewards.
All of these items are made specifically for this campaign and can't be found anywhere else!
We want a community to help us make the game better for them, and Kickstarter is a great way to spread the word. With help from the community that can play, give feedback, suggest level layouts, camera angles, and the coolest animations at the Exclusive Beta Tester Forums, this game can only get better!

Andy "andyTHPS" Gentile, Designer was the publicly proclaimed top THPS player in the world. At the age of 16 he was offered a job by the developers of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and became a designer of the hit franchise helping Activision to sell millions of copies worldwide.
Kurt "SiK" Gutierrez, Designer has been credited on 18 Activision titles in his 9 year video game career. He has been a Designer on 5 Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater titles as well as Lead Designer on one.
Brandon "Hondune" Proulx, Programmer after developing a love for physics games he started up his own company "Hondune Games" at the age of 17 that is entirely dedicated to bringing games with physics-based gameplay to mobile devices. He's been skating for the last 7 years and enjoys photography and 3d modeling in his spare time.
Robert "Rayden" Phillips, Programmer is a THPS veteran and has been programming for over 10 years. He also works under his own company "Chickopie Games" and released the popular game "House of 1000 Demons" on Xbox's Indie games. Currently working on "Wave Cave" for PC & 360.
Justin Mohlman, Artist is a Chicago-based artist who has spent nearly a decade working in the video game, music and educational industries. He's developed art content for legacy franchises, such as Tony Hawk and Mortal Kombat, as well as other AAA titles like Singularity and Stranglehold. His last finished game is the newly released Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD, which is on the Xbox360 and PS3 platforms.
Dallas "DigiDally" Holloway, Artist is a long-time gamer, composer, sound designer, 3D artist and has shipped 5 AAA titles.
Todd "funkhole" Wahoske, Artist contributed to 5 Tony Hawk's Pro Skater titles and was promoted to Lead Environment Artist for Tony Hawk's Project 8, managing a team of 15 artists. Being a music lover, he was delighted to create environments for Guitar Hero 3. Now, Todd is co-owner of Mythos Labs, a game studio located in idyllic Nevada City, CA and currently working on YOU are the Maniac! a horror-movie themed card game.
Mark "MLS" Scott, Artist Vintage game maker with 40 titles under his belt.
