This project was successfully funded on October 23, 2013.
We have shipped eighteen units and plan to ship all outstanding orders within the next four weeks (by order of receipt) assuming:
- we have received enough feedback from these initial shipments to ensure the performance is satisfactory (and the product won't have a mass failure or installation problem)
- A few international locations have stringent importation rules and there may be other delays for these orders which we have yet to discover. We will individually contact those affected.
For those who also ordered complete boards, we originally planned to use a generic board with good hardware. These would be acceptable, but we wanted you to enjoy the best we could. We since decided to switch to a premium board/hardware combo for which we are currently negotiating delivery (have tried various manufacturers, but most couldn't work our order in). You guys have been extremely patient and we want you to have the best. We will update you as soon as we have a firm date. As soon as it is confirmed we will also let you know specs.
For those of you who have received your Kickr already, please submit any concerns or struggles you are having to firstname.lastname@example.org. We also really appreciate any media you can provide that we can share with the other backers.
Some have been having some issues in attempting to power on the unit. You'll need to press it like in this video (near 2:10). It is normal for the plastic to flex a little bit.
Andre shared some pictures of Kickr on his board. Looks pretty sweet. This is similar in shape to the deck we are ordering for those who are getting decks.
We will post another update on our progress by November 27.
