--What--
It's a brand new 2-in-1 game for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)! Ninja and Ninja II are a series of mini-games that are geared around the utilization of different control schemes per stage/event. While most games tend to use the same control scheme throughout their game, the Ninja games try something different; while the aim remains at keeping the controls intuitive per stage. Each stage has its own unique soundtrack that I composed, so that everyone can enjoy something different as the game progresses. Gamers will have the choice to either play alone against a CPU at different difficulty levels or to challenge a friend. Ninja II has a hidden built-in scoring system that is compatible with RetroUSB’s AVS and NintendoAge.com’s online Scoreboard. The art for this game’s box/label/manual reflects the magic of the “Black Box” box-art style that was utilized by the launch titles of the NES in the mid 1980’s.
--Who--
I began my journey by having an immense passion for the NES at an early age and I have always wanted to develop/publish games for it. Fast forward many years later, I was given the opportunity to work with another developer on an online forum known as NintendoAge. Within our collaboration, Ninja came to life. The game debuted at PRGE 2016 (Portland Retro Gaming Expo) in a very modest production run of 5 games. The game later appeared on NintendoAge.com with another modest production of 20 games. Due to Ninja being received well, inspiration for making a sequel came naturally. Ninja II also had a modest production run of only 15 games. Because of the modest release history and positive reception, this is where KickStarter comes in to play.
--Why--
I felt that KickStarter would be an excellent platform to allow Ninja I & II to reach a wider audience. While previously releasing only a handful of Ninjas, this would allow the Ninja games to be enjoyed worldwide and at a larger scale. My enthusiasm for the NES console and the ability to hold a cartridge in your hands is a solid driving factor for this campaign and would love nothing more than for others to experience the same thing. Now, we can all be playing with power!

--How--
The logistics of getting this game on a cartridge have already been sorted out. The gracious people over at InfniteNESLives, UncleTusk.com, thisroomisanillusion.com, and Second Dimension will be providing all-new materials for this game.

--When/Timeline--
- March/April - The start and end date of this campaign
- May - All materials come in/assembly of packaging games begins
- June - All games are shipped out to backers

--Stretch Goals!--
4K – I’ll personally arrange 5 of the tracks from the game on to real instruments. This will be included in the “Your Name in Manual + Game Soundtrack” ($69) tier and above as a Digital Download. As a sample, the “Running Theme” from Ninja goes from its original state (8-bit) and then morphs on to real instruments in the Kickstarter trailer.
6k – The entire 8-bit soundtrack (including any arrangements from the previous stretch goal) will be put on cassette… That’s correct – cassette! It will also utilize the game’s art style. Every backer from the “Your Name in Manual + Game Soundtrack” ($69) tier will be given a cassette.
7k – "Die-Cut" Stickers of a Ninja character will be made! This will be included for every backer in the "Cart-Only Edition" ($39) tier and above.
8k – Mini-posters (folded) of the Ninja I & II box art cover will added as a bonus! Every backer from the "Cart-Only Edition" ($39) tier and above will receive a bonus poster with their pledge.

--Budget Estimate--
- 85% will go to materials/publishing/printing costs
- 10% will go to Kickstarter fees
- 5% will go to advertising/production costs

Risks and challenges
The level of risk for this project is very minimal, as the games are already complete/finished. The Ninja 2 in 1 has already been compiled and tested. The suppliers of the materials are ready and equipped to handle large orders, assuming the campaign goes well beyond our calculations.
