Fat Cook is a sidescrolling game of adventure and puzzles. You play as the Cook who makes his way through the streets of the City.
On the night when the Cook falls through the floor of his restaurant, he finds a letter which predicts his fall, and the situation that surrounds him. The writer of the letter is surprisingly aware that the city streets are abandoned, and that many people have turned into cyborgs. The writer, who appears to be the Cook's friend, sends him of to a quest to find the ingredients of a secret recipe that will help save him, and mankind.
Throughout the game the Cook reveals other letters that his "Friend" has left him. They contain clues which guide him to hidden ingredients that he needs to collect in order to prepare the secret recipe. However, these ingredients aren't the only things he discovers. After many surprises and adventures, the Cook solves the biggest mystery - the identity of the "Friend" and how he came to know what lies in the future.
Physics-based puzzle and mystery story. It is necessary to
combine more than one physical state of the character in order to finish a level. Picking up some food makes the Cook fat, while collecting some other food forces him to lose weight. In different physical states the Cook can interact with the objects in his environment in diverse ways.
The main goal of the Fat Cook is to discover all hidden ingredients of a secret recipe and to reveal the story behind the letter he found at the start of the game. There are plenty of clues which lead to hidden ingredients, but also to bonus levels. -
As you can probably tell from the accompanying materials, we have already done a lot. We have designed the game, illustrated it, created promotional trailers and materials, and designed levels. However, in order to finalize the game we need to employ an experienced programmer who will help us in dealing with game bugs. With his/her help, the game should be ready for market in no time.
Also, we would appreciate any kind of feedback you wish to give us so we can get the idea of what you think of our project, and how we can make it better.
We will finish the first chapter of the story which would contain 15 levels.
The whole game is envisioned as a three chapter story. We will continue with working on the second chapter immediately after the release of the first one. Also, we'll invest a part of this money in marketing.
Following the release of the first chapter, we will continue working on the second and third game chapter in order to finish the whole game. In addition, a part of this sum will be used for marketing.
Send your proposal of an enemy design (one character). Send us your idea, sketch or final artwork. Best idea will appear in the game and you will get DESIGN CREDITS. Our artist will assure that your character fits in the game art style.
The Cook wanders through the streets of the City in order to find the hidden ingredients of the secret recipe. The City's streets are at this point unnamed. If you support us with £100, we will name one of the streets after you. Alternatively, in agreement with us, you can suggest a different street name (e.g. your kid/company/pet's name).
Sent us your idea or final artwork and our artist will take a pass on it to assure it fits in the game art style. You'll receive DESIGN CREDIT
Each level contains at least one billboard. If you support us with £5000, a poster of your choosing will be displayed on all billboards. This poster can be private or business-related, we will need to approve it, and we will provide all the support in poster's design. FYI, we have more than 10 years of experience in designing promotional material. If you have any questions related to this, please don't hesitate to contact us with your query.
/ Animator / Ilustrator / Graphic Designer
The younger Vejnović brother became interested in gaming much later than his older brother. However, the skills that he gained while working as a graphic designer and animator in the past decade have made him a perfect partner for developing the Fat Cook. Dragan, in the UK mostly known as Dragon, has worked for Coca-Cola and Hyundai, among other world-known companies. His services are usually required when logo design, graphic design, motion graphics, and 2D and 3D animations are required. Dragan created illustrations, graphics and animations on the Fat Cook project. He also designed and created all Fat Cook's promotional materials.

Goran was 10 years old when he played his first video game. It was on Amiga 1200, a game console now considered a part of gaming ancient history. This was a beginning of his love affair with video games, although his chemistry teacher was far from impressed. In the two decades since then, Goran remained faithful to gaming and gained priceless experience in game and level design. He designed Fat Cook's gameplay, environment, storyline, and character.

Over the last few years Ryan has guided the creative direction of Lambda Films and taken the lead on many of the company's high-profile, and on occasion, award-winning projects. Now with the company running smoothly and successfully Ryan has rekindled his early love of cinema and film history, and when work allows, is either being active and sporty, or reclusive and experimenting with new digital projects, the latest being Retina Burn, his video marketing blog. He will be in charge of Fat Cook's marketing and promotion.
Risks and challenges
Because this is our first game and because none of us are experts in programming we may not have been able to predict all the challenges and obstacles that will come our way. However, we strongly believe that we will overcome them, but perhaps we will need more time than anticipated. Consequently, we think that the biggest risk is breaking the deadline that we have set for ourselves for the release of the First Chapter of the game, which is 1 March 2015.
The reason why we do not think that the completion of project is questionable is because we already have around 65% of artwork and 50% of level design for the First Chapter of the Fat Cook (First Chapter = 15 levels). So, in order to finish the game, we need only two things. First, our motivation and dedication to finishing the game. We have loads of that. And secondly, we need help from an experienced programmer, who will fix major problems that we are facing at the moment. We plan to pay for this with the money we raise here on Kickstarter, so that should be sorted as well. In short, we may be a little late in delivery, but we will deliver.
