Crate Literary Magazine is a professional-quality publication staffed by the graduate students of the University of California, Riverside MFA Program in Creative Writing and Writing for the Performing Arts. We publish short fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and short dramatic works. Our primary mission is to act as the liaison between the world of the arts, the Riverside community, and the university.
Our secondary mission is to provide an opportunity for graduate students to learn the editorial and publication processes of print and online magazines. Crate staffers work over the course of the school year to produce the final product from concept to paper, as well as releasing internet issues.
