A New Wine Preservation Device where your wine never touches the air and you can see it for yourself! Seeing is Believing! No more pumps, gasses, or needles!
The QikVin was invented within a busy and flourishing winery. With over 40 wines open in our tasting room the preservation of wine and losses due to oxidation was a serious matter. This real-world problem led to the QikVin. Great inventions are simple - so removing the bottom and adding a piston to remove oxygen through a valve in the neck of the bottle seemed easy enough. Little did we know about the science and precision for such a project! Unbelievable tolerances! Why did we do it? - To preserve the romance of the bottle while giving our award winning wines days and weeks of stability. You can think of the QikVin as a bottle that shrinks (so-to-speak) as each glass is poured. If seeing is believing, then you can visibly see how the oxygen is removed from the bottle.
No gas cartridges or no preservatives needed. No pumps and no needles nor ongoing expenses! The QikVin turns heads at the dinner table and is a great conversation piece during supper or wine events. Best of all it preserves your wine on the occasion you do not drink all of it. No more spoiled wine nor loads of cooking wine, rather great wines as they were meant to be enjoyed down to the last drop, that is why we say "Bottoms Up!" as we "Raise Wine to New Heights!" The Qikvin works as described below and comes in Red and White Wine Editions also pictured below. Final product will look slightly different than our best prototypes.
The QikVin was created in the real world of a successful Wisconsin Winery - The Chiselled Grape Winery! After losing so many fine wines to oxidation in our tasting room despite our best efforts I had the inspiration and idea to produce the QikVin.
Engineered in Germany - this solution uses a piston to push out any oxygen. Air is known as "QI" in the ancient world and we are dedicated to remove the air from the bottle. Risks and challenges
No one wants to see a good idea executed poorly, especially one called the QIKVIN. We have worked extremely hard to ready this product for Kickstarter and full-scale manufacturing and fulfillment, but here are what I see as the risks now that Patents and Trademarks have been established and our German engineering complete:
Manufacturing cost will be covered by the company and we want to send your QikVin to you by June, The purpose of the Kickstartert campaign is to build a larger inventory for future sales.
MANUFACTURING: Creating the tooling to manufacture a product of this quality is expensive and requires expert knowledge to get it right. There is typically a 60 day lead time to create the steel molds for a product of this size and this is where delays could occur. To minimize that possibility we're working with tooling manufacturers partners with a track record for prompt quality in Wisconsin.
PRODUCT ADJUSTMENTS: As the QIKVIN gets geared up for production, there will likely be some minor adjustments to improve the final product. Pre-production prototypes are made to test and refine the product and allow us to incorporate our adjustments and those suggested by experienced manufacturing partners. These will always be for the benefit of you, the consumer, and we will let you know exactly how and why any are made.
FULFILLMENT: Sometimes things go awry that can’t be planned for: a supplier misses a deadline, a machine breaks down, or a shipment gets lost. Those things could cause a delay. To minimize the possibility of manufacturing setbacks we will enter the manufacturing stage we have identified one additional manufacturer for each component and my product commercialization expert will help ensure smooth sailing from our suppliers and factories.
We will be working with manufacturers who have years of experience delivering excellent products in tremendous quantities. There will no doubt be some surprises along the road, but any obstacle will be addressed by combining our internal knowledge with external expertise, and an overall goal of making the best possible product for you, our QIKVIN customer.
Any pledge amount brings us one step closer to our goal. Help us make the most innovative idea for wine this century the QIKVIN product by clicking the ‘Back This Project’ button at the top of the page, or by helping us spread the word by sharing our page.
So "Bottoms Up" as we toast YOU in "Raising Wine to New Heights," and say THANK YOU for your help!
Plans are being drawn to enter the EU market with patents covering the globe over the next 20 years. We will keep everyone informed on every stage of our progress. It is a little like ordering designer eye glasses. Baby steps and vision for an excellent product for supportive friends.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
