Founded in 2012 by students at San Diego City College, the San Diego Student Film Festival serves as an open forum for local student film making.The goal of the festival is to provide an annual forum that supports San Diego’s student filmmakers and to nurture a community of media makers that identify themselves with our region and its stories. The festival is the only one of it's kind in San Diego that is focused on supporting local students and offers cash prizes for winning submissions in four categories. Acting as a quality venue for student work, the festival transforms San Diego City College into a celebration of film. The San Diego Student Film Festival creates invaluable opportunities for student filmmakers to learn from one another as well as from well-established industry professionals. The festival features keynote speeches and screenings.
