We are pleased to present the Nozzle Removal Tool. As it stands now, the procedure to swap nozzles includes, cooling the machine down, removing existing filament, and then removing the nozzle. This operation requires the use of a combination of 2 tools. The two tools are the crescent wrench to secure the heater block and the socket wrench to remove the nozzle.
The current removal procedure is cumbersome and can take up to 20 min. The Nozzle Removal Tool is essentially one tool in which the user will be able to remove nozzles by allowing the top housing to secure to the heater block and using the lower housing to remove the nozzle. Our goal is to turn this product into an everyday item Makers can use. This tool would reduce machine downtime and make changing nozzles safer and more accessible. The Nozzle Removal consists of 6 components, not including the heater block, nozzle, and 1/4 inch socket.

Quality and Distribution:
The prototype is currently in the final stages of development. Final testing and material selection are critical before mass distribution. Additionally, we are in the process of looking into adding more functionality to our tool for future versions. A safety mechanism is being researched to prevent the user from over torque of the nozzle; this will cause damage to the heater block. Additional features such as ratcheting will allow for a more rapid removal the nozzle.
Manufacturing and distribution are a crucial aspect in the success of meeting your expectations. International Shipping costs for those is a priority. We will ensure product delivery at a reasonable price. If funding is met the distributing our product will follow our set schedule outlined below, and our goal is to grow the Nozzle Removal Tool in this direction using local machine shops as our Manufacturing supplier.
