The books are open and it's time to get made! You've come to the right place. This is the Kickstarter for Wiseguys: The Savage Guide to Organized Crime for the Savage Worlds Adventure Edition (SWADE)! We’re running this campaign in order to fund the production of the full Wiseguys reference book and accompanying Wiseguys Player’s Guide resource (as explained in more detail below).
“This game references the Savage Worlds game system, available from Pinnacle Entertainment Group at www.peginc.com. Pinnacle makes no representation or warranty as to the quality, viability, or suitability for purpose of this product.”
Wiseguys: The Savage Guide to Organized Crime is a crime setting inspired by the movie Casino by Martin Scorsese, and crime fiction movies by Quentin Tarantino of the 90s such as Reservoir Dogs. It includes character options, setting rules, and a robust bestiary that can be used to run campaigns featuring organized crime protagonists or antagonists.
Daring heists, high-speed chases, turf wars, networking shenanigans, hijackings, mob hits, and desert hole digging await you in Wiseguys as you retake the city that was once yours – all the while dealing with the tribulations of your personal and professional life!
You can learn more about Wiseguys by downloading the free JumpStart, here. It contains a primer, new character options, a Mob Tale and pregenerated characters. Eric Lamoureux was also interviewed by his peers on the Wild Die Podcast about Wiseguys. You can listen to the episode, here.
The book is 90% written. The funds collected here will be used to commission more artwork and pay for editing and additional writing. A sample of the illustrations from our stellar roster of artists that you'll find in the book are presented here on this page. If you like what you see, consider helping us fill the pages of your books with more of these fantastic illustrations!
If this project gets funded, Alliante Entertainment will offer full Wiseguys support on the fantastic Savaged.us, the excellent one-stop application for character, vehicle, power armor, starship, and walker creation as well as other handy tools for the Savage Worlds role playing game (RPG).
All backers will receive the Wiseguys Player’s Guide, which contains select chapters (setting primer, Setting Rules, character creation rules, and gear) from the setting book and a site license so that the Don (Game Master) can share it with the rest of the group. At the Caporegime reward level and higher, you will also receive a voucher to print as many copies of the Player's Guide as you need (at cost) for your entire group!
Finally, we've decided to sweeten the pot with the Comp Package.
The Comp Package is our way of saying thank you by throwing in some free extras for you. This digital package will grow with each stretch goal we reach.
Right now it contains the Denizens of Wiseguys card deck. This standard poker size deck of cards will include all NPCs from the book (approximately 120)in both PDF (so that you can print it at home) and jpeg (so that you can use it with your virtual tabletop of choice). It will also be available as Print on Demand (at cost) to the Caporegime level and higher.

We are using DriveThruRPG to fulfill this Kickstarter.
Print on Demand vouchers allow you to purchase the book at cost plus shipping to your home. This means that if it costs me 4 dollars to make the book, that's what you pay, in addition to the shipping costs. I don't collect any revenue off of POD books. This is simply a way to help you save some money if you wish to have everything in print.
Once I put a product on sale in Print on Demand, I send you an email with your Voucher, which is essentially a coupon. It comes in the form of a URL linking to the product. You click on the link, and it automatically adjusts the price to my cost to print the book. Then, you simply check out like you would any other time you purchase a product. Shipping is then added to the total. At that point, you complete the transaction and you're done!
Here are the estimated printing and shipping costs for the products we offer as Print on Demand. We will send a survey when the Kickstarter campaign is over where you can choose your preference between Soft and Hard cover for Wiseguys: The Savage Guide to Organized Crime. The Player's Guide will be available in Softcover only.

Risks and challenges
Wiseguys is 90% written and has been playtested over the last 2 years. All that is left to write are the rewards (you can become a character in the book). We also kept the structure, rewards and stretch goals simple. This was all done in an effort to minimize potential delays and assure the delivery of this project.
That said, life tends to happen. We are pretty happy with the team we've put together to finalize the production of this project but know other qualified professionals that can replace a contributor in case something unfortunate might happen to them.
*Crossover Disclaimer: We have lots of Crossovers from our various partners heading your way and want to make it clear that each one is the responsibility of their various owners. We’ll distribute the documents as they’re given to us. Please note Just Insert Imagination cannot guarantee their quality, creation, or delivery.
