Have you ever SEEN Music? Have you ever gone to a concert and actually seen the stories behind the songs?
Composer & Acrobat Yuval Oz from Israel has joined forces with Choreographer & Aerialist Angela Buccinni of NYC to create a new way to experience a live music concert. Together they are building a visual collage using the songs from Yuvals first album Standing in Line. Each song, written especially for this show, is a story within itself.
Three of the songs:
The songs will be brought to life by an ensemble of musicians and circus artists who will try to break the boundaries between the characters and the audience. The cast will be completed with artists who are a mixture of musicians and circus talent from all over the world. This is a true ensemble creation based off of the artists involved showcasing their own unique talents and skills. The second half of the album will be written based off the casts' individual talents and their contributions and how the characters and their personal stories connect. Through the combination of music, acting, dance, circus, video and lights – Yuval and Angela strive to stimulate the audiences by allowing them to SEE and FEEL the music.
The audience should not just be spectators but a real part of the essence of the show getting emotionally and physically involved in experiencing the stories within the music.
Yuval first conceived this show after feeling a general lack of visual fulfillment when going to enjoy live concerts. Songs often have music videos, which give them an added value and allow our sense of sight to be involved. As a physical performer and musician Yuval instantly recognized that there is a great benefit during live performances of having an audience so close to the action. Why not take advantage of this intimacy and incorporate more senses so that viewers will have a more fully embodied, and tactile way to experience music.
Where in the process are we now:
- We just finished the first half of the album in Israel and are now on our way back to NYC
- 5 Songs just came back from mixing and are on the way to mastering
- We are searching the world for multi-talented musician and circus artists, who we hope to be able to hire IF we get this project fully funded (to donate, click on the "BACK THIS PROJECT" link on the upper right side of this page)
- We are shooting of the music videos with a renowned photographer/videographer for one of the songs (hence why Yuval looks like a cave man right now and has a full beard and long hair. Stay tuned for the video upload)
- We are currently work-shopping movement ideas with friends and colleagues
- The aerial grid has been designed and as soon as the funds comes through it can be built
- The circus tent is being designed right now
*Until now all artists and people involved have donated their time and talents. It is our GOAL to make this a paid production with a well-supported cast and crew*

About the Creators:
Yuval Oz: Creator and Artistic Director
In Israel, Yuvals training began with Piano and gymnastics and kung-fu. His professional career began by the age of 7, when Yuval was spotted as a featured child at the Be'er Sheva Theater. In 1992 Yuval signed his first major contract with a French theatre named Image aigue, as an original cast member of a production called Adama.
By 1994 Yuval was accepted to the national arts high school in Israel - "Thelma Yelin", where he studied, among other things: acting, theater - dance, movement, pantomime, voice, production, lighting and direction. Shortly after completion of the army Yuval formed a band called "Alabama" (in Hebrew - on stage). This pioneer band was created for a special concept, a live concert, with professional musicians on stage and lead singers drawn from the crowd. The band has performed over 350 concerts all over Israel and has appeared on many TV shows under the musical direction of Yuval.
Still not content and driven to create, Yuval was hungry to learn more and began to study and perform aerial acrobatics including tissue, trapeze, double trapeze and acrobalance. He returned to Wingate Institute and Holon sports center for gymnastics and trampoline. In 2006 Yuval moved to France to begin learning the challenging circus art of hand and head balancing under the direction of Claude Victoria, a renowned teacher whose students appear in Cirque du Soleil and many other world renowned companies, including the Israeli Opera and Bordel Total.
