BasicSpace is a site-sensitive performance festival set in two Victorian safehouses in Peckham.
The festival will showcase six brand new productions over four days featuring the best in emerging talent from around the country. The productions chosen will be tailor made to fit the space, each offering a unique, intimate, immersive experience.
We are providing an unparalleled opportunity for emerging artists in the field of site-specific and immersive theatre. We believe this platform must be accessible to companies who lack the resources to produce work by themselves.
As such, we are not charging the companies for the opportunity. We are splitting the box office 50:50.
With no financial help coming from the companies, we need your help to cover the core costs of running a festival. We need help with sound, lighting, health and safety equipment, security, heating, performance licenses and most importantly venue hire for 8 days.
In return we can offer lots of great perks including priority booking, tickets to exclusive premieres, limited edition programmes and posters, and even private tours of the venue.
We are also offering a festival pass where you can see all six productions for just £50- that’s a whole festival cheaper than one seat in the West End.

Risks and challenges
After working on the festival for several months, we are very confident that with the experienced festival team and the companies already in place that should this project be successfully funded it will go ahead.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
