Unemployment Quest is FINISHED!

All right!  As of today, Unemployment Quest is officially in its final version.  I've mailed the master copy to the disc replication company and I'll have the game available to download for backers (or to buy for non-backers) next week!

This game has been a huge emotional investment for me and it will definitely provide a couple hours of totally solid gameplay.  (I hope everyone takes the time to examine objects while they're playing!)  Despite having a serious theme and some inspiration from depressing situations, I think players will have a lot of fun and hopefully find amusement at some of the humor I've sprinkled liberally throughout.

I look forward to hearing what everyone thinks of the final product!

I also posted a new MP3 to the web site, it's the "boat version" of the world map song and you can download it here: http://www.unemploymentquest.com/music.html

Thanks again to all the backers!  It really feels great to see how this little independent project could gain such support!

You're not actually stuck! Just go back to the bottom of the well you came out of and you should be brought back to the teleportation spring!

But thanks for letting me know anyway.

Charles, where do we go to report issues? I think I found a way to get stuck in the game. If you use the boat then use the spring of teleportation to go home, the boat stays where it is and you can't go back to that island.

Love it! Thanks so much for your bright idea!

Man, I'm only five minutes into the game and already love it. It's fucking hilarious.

You'll totally get a download link!

I expect to be able to start mailing the discs out sometime in the next 2-3 weeks.

question: for those of us getting a physical copy, can we also d/l on the 15th since we don't know when we will get the shipment? or are they on their way now?

Nice. $10 is totally reasonable for 2 hours of gameplay. I live in the country and can't download giant games so physical is always a gigantic plus.

Sweet, can't wait to play my game and see my name!!!! Also, maybe this can become a full time job for you as a game developer I have some cash and ideas, but I'm not a gamer just a thinker with love for the artistic talents of todays unemployed youth.

You're welcome ;D Cant wait to get the game. I'll have to feature it on my youtube channel. If you ever need donations for another game, keep in touch! I'll always have a little set aside that we can further discuss :) (and I mean in the few hundreds, not $10 or $20). You're an awesome developer. Pffft who needs a boss when you can yell at yourself? SELF motivator!

I hope this project was more of a catharsis than a burden for you. Just know that millions are struggling with the same unemployment situation and can sympathize with the emotions you feel everyday. Can't wait to play your game!

Hooray!!! Congrats on finishing, Charles! I cannot even explain how much I look forward to playing. Thank you for sharing Unemployment Quest with all of us!
