The programming language I worked most with was Pascal on Mac and I played around with map making with GtkRadiant for a bit.
I've been using Linux alongside Windows since I tried a 50MB distro back when I still had Windows 98.
I learned ActionScript 2 using Flash MX 2004 to make a few simple projects.
I switched from an IT focus in high-school to business management for college.
My skills may be a bit obsolete, but I still believe I can be of some assistance.

Hey Zeke! Yes, I have tried several forums including gamedev.net (announcements and my dev journal), newgrounds (general and my news), tigsource (twice, but were deleted both times), unity, flixel, and several others.
I have also sent emails to over 20 gaming news websites including rockpapershotgun, indiegames, indiegamemag, humble, and DIYgamer. No websites have posted about it, but a few people with quite a few followers have retweeted it, such as garagegames.
I am keeping my head up! Thanks for your interest.
Have you tried posting to game developer forums? There are a handful that I know of that I check regularly and sometimes post to when I complete a project. I've posted to the Extra Curricular forum that homes a decent little community of game dev types of all levels of experience.
You might try out gamedev.net or gamershell.com as well.

Hi Zeke, thanks for your pledge. I checked out your website too. My experience so far is that Kickstarter is tough. People don't want to give up even a dollar and it is extremely hard to publicize. I have been struggling to get a popular website to post or tweet about the project but no luck yet. I wont give up though!
