Kickstarter has challenged creators to Make/100 copies of a project and I'd like to produce a limited edition zine with compelling stories to celebrate the soft launch of my new website California Eating.
Although I was the ghostwriter for a major cookbook that came out in 2016, most of my food writing is done online and I have been itching to experiment with some small-run print projects. I've written thousands of blog posts about food in California over the past decade (with bylines in places like NBC Bay Area, Bravo TV, Food & Wine and Zagat).
It would be incredible to produce an informative and entertaining print work of extended food porn that offers inventive recipes from amazing chefs and captures the excitement of what happens here on the street, in restaurants at all price points and in underground kitchens. I promise you'll feel the passion!
Risks and challenges
This will be the first time I have ever released my own print project but I don't foresee any glaring risks or challenges to completing the project on time except for unforeseen illness or injury.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
