ABOUT THE PROJECT: In the mid nineties, when raves were still rare and few, there was a movement called P.L.U.R. (Peace. Love. Unity. Respect). Handmade pony beaded bracelets were traded symbolically, as a sign of friendship. We are regenerating the style by adding the L.E.D lights. Kandi Beadz (www.kandibeadz.com ) has a tax id and has been registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and are designed in Brooklyn, New York.
Through fostering connections between young people in the dance community we hope to create enough friendships, with the ultimate purpose of building a stronger, drug free society.
Average pledge is $25 (you will get rewards send to your address).
Our goal is 1,250.00 (twelve hundred fifty dollars). We hope to meet this amount and hopefully have some extra to promote through social media sponsored ads. The pledges you make will go towards meeting our suppliers' demand for minimum orders; creating the final merchandise; packaging and shipping the rewards; perfecting the website; incorporating; printing of catalogs/brochures/business cards/packaging, paying for vendor spots, permits and organizing a dazzling company launch evening with a live DJ & some cute give aways.
The bracelets contain letters P.L.U.R. - it is a message of Peace, Love, Unity and Respect (or the name of a customer).
PEACE ☆ Letting go of fears and living at peace with oneself, one another, and the planet
LOVE ☆ As one learns to love oneself, he/she is able to love everyone else unconditionally
UNITY ☆ A mutual bond is formed resulting from the love and peace experienced
RESPECT ☆ Because of peace love and unity, one can accept others regardless of their beliefs or background
These rave bracelets have resurfaced in the recent years and KANDI BEADZ is reinventing the original style, by adding 7 blinking hours of L.E.D. (light emitting diode) set with the black light reflective acrylic & glass pony + alphabet beads. The beads are growing more and more popular each year, among the party goers.
We are creating the multi-colored accessories, that are whimsically crafted with LED lights running through a hollow stretchy cord, bedazzled with sized and textured pony beads, emitting shine and color, perfectly completing any look. Each bracelet sports a closure knob featuring a unique design of your choice.
OUR GOALS FOR 2015:
One of our main goals is to fill a request by Louis Suduaya, a world famous French DJ. He asked me to accommodate promotional merchandise for a big music festival in Europe where he will be performing.
I’ve been asked by a designer James Long to make enough bracelets to outfit his models for a fashion show (coming up in April and May) featuring his Divide and Konquer clothing brand. We are hoping to reach our goal of $1,250 in time to accommodate James with accessories for his show.
This project will only be funded if at least $1,250 is pledged by Monday February 16, 2015
All levels of pledgers will receive a personal thank you from us! Some pledgers will receive a custom made kandi bracelet and the more generous backers will be send an eco-gift wrapped package with a rare, limited addition Pandora style, precious Swarovski crystal beaded bracelet, complete with LED lights built to last for over 18 hours. Each bracelet sports a closure knob featuring a unique design OF YOUR CHOICE. Also 2 people will be invited to a taping of our YouTube channel show PLUR EXCHANGE, this guest appearance will help us to spread the PLUR message.
Risks and challenges
Any startup business is running a risk of not lifting off the ground. As optimistic as we are about our products, we are aware that It maybe challenging to promote a product with a "Say no to drugs" message, considering the current state of the today's dance scene environment.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
