Hello everyone!

Exciting news: WE HAVE HIT OUR GOAL!!!

Through the tremendous support of all of you guys, we were able to reach our goal of raising $8000! We are so incredibly humbled and thrilled to have such amazing individuals supporting our idea. Brin and I are elated by the outpouring of support we have received from not only the southeast (where we are based), but all across the United States.

The funding you have contributed to Lion's Thread will go towards:

1. Hiring more women in need of impactful employment

2. Purchasing more one-of-a-kind, African prints

3. Building up our distribution channels, so we can better get bow ties to our customers

4. Supplying inventory for our ready-to-launch online store

And, most importantly,

5. Beginning our efforts to establish economic growth and sustainability in Iganga, Uganda.

None of those things could have been accomplished without your amazing generosity. Here's to you guys!

Now, a little bit of housekeeping:

Even though we have reached our goal, the campaign is still continuing through Saturday, April 19th at 10:13 AM EST. If you have friends, family or colleagues that would still like to purchase a bow tie, tank top, koozie, sticker, or an amazing adventure gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, then they will certainly still have the opportunity.

Additionally, if you have purchased a tie, but have not yet told us which design you would like, please feel free to send us a message through Kickstarter signifying which bold tie you would like to rock. If it is easier, then you are also welcome to send me a direct email at

Again, thank you guys so incredibly much! We can't even tell you how great it is to have so many people believe in what we are doing!

All my gratitude,

Sydney Hulebak and the Lion's Thread team
