In the realm where Bowie and fantasy cross paths so perfectly, there is a masquerade ball dripping with billowing white fabric, glittering crystals, pearls, twinkling lights and gilded masks. Now, imagine we've turned this 80's childhood Labyrinth fantasy into a reality that effervesces with puppets, creatures, and wave after wave of enchanting live music and thrilling performance art all hosted by The Goblin King himself!
This is what Rabbit Quinn and Containher are creating for you and our incredibly creative community for one night of absolute magic at The Chapel, the illustrious music venue in San Francisco. This year has been challenging, to say the least. We wanted to combat the ugliness with beauty and community by bringing us together to create something none of us could create alone! Through dark times we will shine twice as bright!
We've gathered incredible performers, set designers, and artists of all mediums to draft up the blueprint for an unforgettable evening!
Together with the marketing team that supports the annual Edwardian Ball, Paradox Media, and with the help of sponsors like Asiel Design from San Jose (bringing beautiful shiny things) .....the night we have in store for you will be absolutely stunning in the picturesque and Bowie-loving setting of The Chapel!
YOUR contributions will support all of the fantastic sets as they are being made! We'll be posting updates of the pieces each day leading up to the event!
Our ball will feature drag, burlesque, dance, puppetry and will also host tarot and tea readings. Entering the space will be entering another reality!
Pianist, vocalist and songwriter Rabbit Quinn crafts otherworldly fables reminiscent of unconventional piano rock storytellers such as Kate Bush, Nina Simone, Tom Waits and Tori Amos. After two successfully funded albums on Kickstarter and a sold out album release show — for her sophomore record, "Painted Fan" (recorded at Tiny Telephone) — at the famous Cafe du Nord last year, Rabbit sang the national anthem for the A's 50th Anniversary game at Oakland Colosseum.
ContainHer is a female artist, vocalist and electronic music producer that weaves transcendental sci-fi dreams into indy electro pop that scintillates with warmth and emotion. She likens her solo music to "Depeche Mode riding the luck dragon from the Never Ending Story under an ABBA sun".
