In the autumn of 2014 the historic Penwith Gallery in St Ives will host Making Time: New Photographic Constructions, an exhibition of five South West based photographic artists. The show will demonstrate the breadth and diversity of the contemporary photographic medium.

The project has already secured funding for gallery hire and the production of works. What we need your support with is the production of an innovative, limited edition catalogue. Not only will this help to promote our work before, during and after the show, it will be a beautiful document in its own right. As well as images and information on all the artists involved the catalogue will include a critical text & the print run will be limited to just 250 copies.

The catalogue will be designed by John D Kilburn, a super talented artist, illustrator & designer based in Falmouth, Cornwall. You can see his work here. The funds raised will cover John's design fee as well as the printing costs.

Cornwall at large and St Ives in particular has not given photography a significant platform of support, in terms of regularly providing exhibition space and other developmental activity. The exhibition represents a unique opportunity to provide a platform for contemporary photography in Cornwall and to act as a catalyst for future photographic development in the area.

By donating to this Kickstarter project you will not only be supporting this exciting, progressive group of artists, you will also receive a beautiful object and that warm, fuzzy feeling that comes through giving!

So please donate if you can as every pledge helps.

Risks and challenges

We are aware that the project may bring up unexpected challenges. However, all of the artists involved have experience of the designing, making and publication of books and printed material. With the added flair of our designer John D Kilburn and the expertise of our printer we feel confident we can deliver.
