We're Clearwater Entertainment, and we're proposing something that is creative, immersive and for the whole world potentially to enjoy. Unlike other projects you see on Kickstarter, this one is a little bit different.
We, under license from the Star Tugs Company Ltd, are creating a mixed media exhibition to display original props and other items relating to the children's television show TUGS.
The exhibition will include a selection of the original character props, the composition of which will change periodically, as well as other relics and artwork relating to the show.
The exhibition will be housed inside a converted railway carriage at the Midland Railway Centre - Butterley.
Inside as you walk in you will be greeted by one of our staff who will happily take you round the exhibition. The first thing you'll notice is that you can't believe you're inside a railway carriage! The whole thing will be clad in smooth timbers and decorated to the highest standard. Soft backing music appropriate to the show will be playing and you'll be able to get up close with the Tugs that are on display that week as well as interact with other exhibits we want to produce especially for this venture.
The exhibition carriage is stage one in a big plan for the future of the Tugs collection. As our market grows we want to move into larger spaces and do more exciting and interactive exhibits. If you have any ideas or would like to know more about the Star Tugs Company, our staff will be most happy to talk to you about them!
The Star Tugs Company ltd have long held an ambition to put these assets on permanent display for the enjoyment of everybody. Clearwater Entertainments has taken on the task of doing this, but only YOU can make it a reality!
Where will my money go?
The money we are raising through kickstarter will fund the construction of the exhibition, and provide equipment we will use to create some of our merchandise, where currently we have to outsource for most of it.
In terms of constructing the exhibition, this means renovating the coach which will house the main displays. Any railwayman will tell you that with the right equipment and labour this is a relatively simple but expensive task!
We have the people and the equipment ready, we just need the money to hire them! Also we need to create fully secure and enclosed display stands for 12 of the 18 Tug models we own. These stands, given how secure and safe they have to be will cost over £500 each to produce.
One of our major stretch goals is to produce a to scale model of the main location in the show, Bigg City port! This would have buttons which active lights and movement within it as an attraction as well as provide context for those not familiar with the show. We have a wealth of ideas and are open to more, but to put it simply, the more we raise, the more attractions we can put in for opening day!
We also wish to upgrade our existing heat press equipment so we can handle a larger rate of production for things like our customised mugs & t-shirts and provide a wider range of products.
All that's left is for us to thank each and everyone one of you for coming on this journey with us, we know you're doing your bit, we'll meet you on the other side on the 15th March!

Risks and challenges
As with any project there are risks involved. Fortunately we have now confirmed the location with MRC, And we have secured the carriage which is now been dragged out ready to be restored, on a 2 year agreement. It is literally now a matter of us saying the word GO!
Of course any setbacks will be communicated to the public, not just the backers in a very honest and open manner, we feel it only right since you are going out of your way and pocket, to help us.
After it has been funded, the main risk is in visitor numbers, as with any exhibition or museum, BUT though this will not affect the rewards promised, and we have the resources to keep the museum open until the end of 2014. This is one risk though we truly aren't worried about because we know we have a support base we can rely on, and we know we're bringing something you guys want, and we like to think of you all as our friends, and will want to "pop by" as often as possible!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
