We use a double-wall triple layer carafe with vacuum insulation. We start with two 304 stainless steel walls, then add a separate copper layer, and finally create a vacuum where all air is removed between those layers. We go further and add a ceramic coating on the interior to ensure no metal touches wine. All combined, we use the latest technology to keep the contents cold for over 24 hours and the taste of your wine the freshed possible.
Aeration is the act of exposing wine to the outside air. This will cause both oxidation and evaporation of some of the undesirable compounds (e.g. sulfites and ethanol) so that the more desirable traits of the wine are revealed. We use a venturi-style aeration. Air is pulled from the outside and mixed directly with the wine as you pour. We believe this to be the best most effective "on demand" aeration system.
No. Our product does not contain glass (material). We do use Tritan for our glassware. Tritan is an advanced co-polymer material that is clear, durable, and shatter-resistant. More importantly, it does not contain any BPA, BPS or any other bisphenols.
We currently ship to the United States (US) and the European Union (EU). We will provide a survey at the end of the campaign to collect your current mailing address and confirm prior to shipping. We are working now to try and make Carivino available to other countries. If you would like us to ship outside the US or EU - please let us know so we can include your country. The more popular we are in those other areas, the faster we can make it available.
Taxes or duties vary from country to country which make it difficult to provide a single answer. This means that each backer will be responsible for all taxes levied (including but not limited to import duties and assessed VAT). Where possible, we will always do our best to lower costs.
