Closing the Survey

Posted by Landfill Harmonic (Creator)

Dear backers,

We are sorry to announce we need to close the survey submission form. Kickstarter will give you 48 hours to fill in the survey so you can collect your rewards.

We set up the survey and sent it out one year ago, on July 4th of 2016, to gather everyone’s updated addresses and a confirmation of the rewards that would be emailed or shipped. We sent out multiple reminders and requests for everyone to complete the survey by November 1st of last year. This information was essential for us to hire a shipping company, temporarily hire a small team to handle the rewards fulfillment, order a bulk amount of items to ship out, work with manufacturers and shipping companies, create mass email lists to send digital rewards and for us to create a budget to work around. We announced that we would not be able to send rewards to whomever did not complete the survey in that timeframe.

Out of 4054 backers who chose to receive rewards, 2500 backers responded to our survey by November 1st. We could not wait for more responses any longer, the main reason being that those who had submitted the survey early wanted to receive their rewards as soon as possible and rightfully so. We delivered the rewards between December of 2016 and February of 2017. The digital rewards were the first ones to be sent.

Some of you contacted us to let us know about problems you were experiencing with your digital and physical rewards and we worked with you individually. Please keep in mind that it’s not easy to handle a database of 2500 backers. In case you are still experiencing problems accessing digital rewards or finding an expired link, please contact us at We will walk you through the technical steps and look into alternative solutions.

Since November 1st to this date about 100 more backers have submitted their survey. We are sorry to let you know that we cannot process your rewards in full anymore because we no longer count with the manpower to set up again the process mentioned above. For those of you who will submit the survey in the 48-hour period established by Kickstarter, we will only be able to send out digital rewards and whatever physical rewards we have left in stock until we run out. We hope you can understand this.

We would like to offer all of you a copy of our digital photobook in appreciation for your support. You may download it from this link:

We truly thank you for supporting our Kickstarter campaign, which has been essential for the making of The Landfill Harmonic film. Now everyone can get to know the inspiring story of the Recycled Orchestra in film, and through it we hope to spread this message of hope, community effort and the power of music to the entire world. If you wish to learn how to introduce the film to your community or school please visit our website or reach us at

We hope you enjoy the movie. And again please let us know if you have any problems after you submit your survey.

With love and gratitude,

 The Landfill Harmonic Team

I am disappointed that I did not receive the reward. I was never notified that the reward was ready. This may be an issue with Kickstarter. I am very disappointed.

Thank you for this update. I do have a question about fulfillment: I am looking for a new Vimeo link for my reward as mine expired before I had a chance to add the film to my library. Thank you in advance for your support in this matter, and I look forward to watching the movie and sharing my renewed support.

I backed this project, but I will likely never see it, due to the insulting "reward" of a $2 discount on a $10 digital film. Good job with completing the project, but I felt like you didn't really care to show your gratitude in a way that mattered. Oh well.

It's a great project. Glad it was realised at long last.
I was disappointed however that there were problems with the online viewing. Wrong information about the end date of viewing was given. Nothing could be done to change that unfortunately. So I missed that. Hopefully the dvd will be sent shortly so I can see the movie. My address was right. I await arrival soon.

Being even the tiniest bit involved with this project has been one of the most satisfying ventures of my life. Seeing the progress of the project, the development of the children, attending the premiere, watching the film with friends and recommending it to everyone has enriched my life. I could not be more pleased with how everything was handled. Congrats to all for a job so well done.
