They came from the North. Hard men and women made so by the frozen lands of their birth, the Gods of their faith and the dangers that lurked in the dark corners of their lands. They had little fear of man, for the Gods taught it was better to die in battle than in bed for Valhalla awaits the chosen. They set out in search of glory and a death worthy of being sung by warrior poets and written in the Sagas of the bold. Some set forth by land others in serpents of wood. Those unfortunate to have crossed their paths prayed “Save us O Lord from the fury of the Northmen”.
These miniatures are made in scale to the Iron Mammoth template for 32mm from the bottom of the foot to the eye level. The male miniatures are typically 32mm from the bottom of the foot to the eye level and the females are 32mm from the bottom of the foot to the top of the head. Cast in lead free pewter. Some miniatures will need to be assembled.
The “Velja ór þórr” (Chosen of Thor) pledge level includes one of all six sets and a limited edition Thors Hammer cast in German silver (a white alloy of nickel, zinc, and copper). I am making 50 total and have set 26 aside for this project. Numbers 1-24 have been reserved so the editions with the numbers 25-50 are the numbers that will be sent out with this pledge. This Hammer is 3 inches long and 2 ¼ inches wide without the ring and finials. Each Hammer will be finished with an 10mm amber cabochon a ring around the top of the hammer and finials attached to the ring with leather braided square cord. Once the edition is gone there will be no more of this one Hammer available.
While these miniatures are featured in the Ragnarok game, Ragnarok is not included as part of this Kickstarter.
These miniatures will be featured in an upcoming game called Ragnarok by Hammer Fist Games owner Tim Korklewski. Raganrok will be published by Osprey Games and is due to be released March of 2019. It will be using the upcoming Morpheus Engine rules set.
In RAGNAROK, the end of the Aesir has come, but not as the prophecies foretold. The dreaded dragon Niddhoggr, the Malice Striker, has devoured the roots out from under the World Ash, Yggdrasil, and the great tree has toppled onto its side, crashing the realms of mortal and supernatural together. With the gods dead and the fires of ruin consuming the world, your war clan of Viking warriors know what it must do to survive the destruction of the Nine Realms and restore order: THEY must become the new gods!
Ragnarok is a campaign-driven skirmish game where you will form a Viking war clan to prove themselves worthy of becoming the new pantheon. Through active participation between players, each will be responsible through strategic game play and epic storytelling to write their own saga of how their war clan have clawed their way up from ruin and have taken the halls of Valhalla through blood and steel.
Game play: Vicious Viking combat with a heavy metal edge that plays very much like a fighting game. Through the use of a mechanic called Godspark, battles are no longer determined by a mere “hit or miss and deal damage” outcome as seen in most games. Instead, warriors will be pushing, throwing, and crashing their opponents around the battlefield, turning even the terrain on the table into dangerous weapons of destruction!
As the war clans improve, they will gain glorious new powers that will bring them closer to godhood as well as gain the respect of the denizens of the realms, allowing them to bring dire wolves, Dwarves, and even the dreaded Giants into their war clans.
