I am building a walking centaur costume for Scarborough Renaissance festival and I mean business! Read more

About this project
About 4 years ago I threw together a cheap centaur costume of my own when I couldn't find a decent design online. I have since been asked to help others make costumes or help design costumes.
Today I am wanting to revisit this scrapped project but do it right, and in a big way. I want to make the most realistic Centaur costume you have ever seen anywhere. I'm no photoshop whiz (sorry about the awkward one of me in the forest with a bow) but I am highly creative and good with my hands. My plan is to design and construct this costume for roughly $750 in time to wear it to next year's Scarborough Renaissance Festival in Waxahachie Texas.
Now I have been to this fair a few times, and you see some impressive costumes, but I have NEVER seen a Centaur there. What's worse is most centaur costumes out there do not have working back legs! They just drag them behind them like they got hit with a tranquilizer dart or something! It's very sad and I'm ready to show those fellas how it's done!
If all goes well I plan to attend the Fair every day that they are open next year, in the full suit. That's every Saturday and Sunday from April 4th to May 25th. THEREFORE if you are one of the pledges of $50 or more, you will get to meet me and see the dream that you made a reality IN PERSON! (You can even give me a little smack on my hindquarters.)
Risks and challenges
There really are no risks here. I can do the project with minimal funding but as with most things, you get what you pay for. If I have a $50 budget then guess what, this sucker will be made from PVC pipe and fishing line again.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
