I am a chocolatier from Vermont and I make medicinal and culinary herb infused chocolates. I am also a whole foods caterer.
This summer while cooking at the New England Womyn's Herbal Conference, I was invited by an Ecuadorian ethnobotanist and medicine womyn to come teach "Chocolate from my Heart" to her community. I feel extremely honored to be invited to Ecuador and especially to share my passions and learn from those who keep cacao at the core of their traditions. I am hoping to visit Ecuador two times. First to get my bearings and meet the community. Then another time to offer workshops. I am in need of extra funding to make these visits happen. And through these visits I hope to create and build relationships in order to source my cacao directly from farmers.
By using this crowdfunding campaign, offering workshops in my home town and hosting cacao based dinners, I hope to raise enough funds to feel solid in travel and support.
Risks and challenges
I am hoping to support the Ecuadorian community through my travels, workshops and openness to learn and honor their culture and traditions. Having never been to South America, I am aware there will be challenges. But I feel ready to face what may come with grace and an open heart.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
