Frequently Asked Questions
No. The posters can be requested by any student in their first year at a UK University.
Certain posters are specific to certain courses, but the majority of designs share advice which can be applicable to a wide variety of students.Last updated:
Because, by making the poster a gift, it is possible to multiply the effect of graduates reaching out and sharing their advice with new students. This effect is possibly the most important part of the project.
Because, the free exchange puts students and graduates on an equal footing, reflecting how much they have in common.
Because, advice is subjective and should ideally be given as a gift, with nothing expected in return.Last updated:
If we reach our funding goal, in early September 2015 we will print 300 copies each of 12 advice to sink in slowly designs.
First year students will be able to request up to 5 surprise posters for themselves and their friends, through an online form on our website.
The poster requests will be passed to a fulfilment company who guarantee a one week turnaround. The posters will be sent via second class post in a strong cardboard envelope.
As soon as the project is funded we will begin doing everything we can to spread the word about the posters and their availability to students. But the most effective means of communication maybe the word of mouth recommendation, from one student to another, once the project is running.Last updated:
This year's pilot of 3,500 posters is a drop in the ocean. The Higher Education Statistics Agency states that 477,025 students entered Higher Education in 2013.
But IF we exceed our Kickstarter goal (THANK YOU!) we can scale up our postage distribution and printing (including the number of designs available) to send out many more posters to new students across the UK this year.Last updated:
