New Broken Contract Breaker Miniatures
We want to complete the Broken Contract Breaker miniature range with two multi-part miniatures for every character type.
This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Thu, November 22 2018 12:00 AM UTC +00:00.
We are humbly asking you to help us expand our range of Breakers for Broken Contract. These plucky freedom fighters have turned their tools against their oppressive overseers. We want to create two, white metal, multi-part counterparts for every character option currently in the Breaker range - that means Adults, Teens, Children, and starting with everyone's favorite heavyweights: Gen-Mods.
We are starting with two different Breaker Gen-Mods, a male and a female version. You might be asking, "What's a Gen-Mod?" Gen-Mods are the ogre-sized, lab grown, orphans who operate much of the heavy machinery in the colonies of the future. The models themselves are on 40mm bases and stand ~40mm each. Pictured is a WIP photo of the new Female Breaker Gen-Mod being painted by Malev Minis.
When we're running demos of Broken Contract at stores and conventions, most people immediately gravitate to playing the side that has a Gen-Mod. There is something instantly satisfying about knowing that in the coming fight, there will be a character on your side guaranteed to knock some heads around.
Many of the original models sculpted for Broken Contract were simple 1 or 2 part models because at the time I was more interested in creating a boardgamer friendly version of the game, so that it would reduce the barrier to entry for a wider audience. Additionally, I was just starting to learn the ropes of manufacturing miniatures and I wanted to keep things simple until I learned the ins and outs. However, after I moved on from my first sculptor, my next two sculptors volunteered multi-part options, and I ran with it. This was an exciting new world of options to explore!
With all that we have learned, it is time to give the Breakers their own multi-part Gen-Mod, and its about time we expanded the full range of Breakers to increase both gaming options and representation. If we can make this happen, and exceed the initial goal, we will continue to add alternate heads, weapons, and completely new models to the Breaker range. The further we push things, the greater the amount of options we can create.
Finally, there are a few limited Premium Rewards featuring options to become art or a new miniature sculpt. These can be for the Breaker range, the Black Squadron range, or you could be a pioneer into one of our future ranges! Would you like to be a Knife Syndicate criminal? A FerrumSky Loyalist? A contract Enforcer? A scavenging Jackal wandering the Bonelands outside the mines? We would love to work with you to jumpstart one of our future projects.
Our Initial Target Goal is $750!
Here are the available Backer Levels:
Broken Contract 'Let's Play' at Guerrilla Miniature Games:
This was recorded in January of 2017 but will give you a good sense of game play, and they do a fantastic job of conveying the atmosphere that surrounds Broken Contract.
The Stretch Goal Pool:
It's not all about what we want here at Breaker Press Games. We know what goals we want to achieve, but we know that there is a lot of competition out there for your hobby dollars, so rather than forcing our priorities upon you, we would like to have you all choose what comes next from a pool of possibilities. We will post a new survey after each Goal is reached to determine what the next Stretch Goal will be. Here is Stretch Goal #1, taken from our pre-Kickstarter Survey and a list of options from our next survey:
Stretch Goal #2 Survey Options:
-Additional Arms and Heads for the Female Breaker Gen-Mod: +$125 to Stretch Goals
-Additional Arms and Heads for the Male Breaker Gen-Mod: +$125 to Stretch Goals
-New Male Breaker Child ($6 Add On): +$500 to Stretch Goals
-New Female Breaker Crew Leader ($8 Add On): +$500 to Stretch Goals
-New Female Breaker Child: ($8 Add On): +$500 to Stretch Goals
-New Beloved Breaker Dog: ($8 Add On): +$500 to Stretch Goals
Bonus Stretch Goal #1: 65 Backers
When we had this model sculpted a few years back, the sledgehammer shaft was just a little too thin for my tastes. So we I asked our current sculptor to bulk it up a little and add a few more arm and head options.
You may be thinking, "Why 65 Backers? That's an unusual number." Our first Kickstarter had 63 Backers. My great hope is to exceed that number of Backers by 2! If we meet or exceed that goal, everyone who pledges $12 or more gets a FREE Updated Male Breaker Crew Leader. So tell your friends!

Shipping is not included in this Kickstarter. All shipping amounts will be calculated and collected after the Kickstarter is over. Weights fluctuate greatly based upon Add-Ons and Stretch Goals, and blanket prices for international shipping have resulted in serious shortfalls for us in our previous two Kickstarters. I know that people love the convenience of knowing exactly how much they are spending, but there are just too many variables to take into account. Additionally, when shipping is included in the price, Kickstarter is collecting a percentage of what needs to go towards those crucial shipping costs. As a guide, here is what you can expect:

Risks and challenges
Based upon my previous Kickstarter experiences, I have set a reasonable timeline. The models that are the focus of this Kickstarter have already gone through 3D sculpting, and in some cases the master print has already taken place to pinpoint any problems that sometimes come along with miniature Kickstarters. Delivery dates could be affected by the success of the Kickstarter and the number of Stretch Goals we attempt to tackle. With that in mind, the focus of the Kickstarter has been kept deliberately narrow to minimize these issues.
Another hurtle that Kickstarters often face is that of rising postage rates. This issue is being circumvented by choosing to charge customers for shipping after the Kickstarter is over, during the Kickstarter Survey. Though this can be an annoying inconvenience for the Backer, it does mean that the we can avoid unexpected postage shortfalls due to weight added by Stretch Goals or costs incurred by unexpected changes to the postal code.
I expect that we will see many of the same Backers from previous Kickstarters and I think this is a testimony to how we've run them in that past, and what we have learned along the way.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
