PREVIOUSLY ON SAMURAI CHEF... A tasty mix of action, comedy and the amazing culinary creations, Samurai Chef is set in a fantasy television network with an all animal cast.
Samurai Chef begins as a simple cooking competition, but when Elite Chefs turn up with special ingredients that turn their dishes into battle ready opponents the contest between dish and judge is taken to a whole new level!
New elite chefs have entered the show and the level of competition has gone up a few notches. Is the Samurai Chef ready for the battles to come?
The goal of this campaign is to produce the artwork for Samurai Chef volume 2 and combine both volume 1 and volume 2 into a single book, bringing the story to a satisfying end.
The combined Samurai Chef book will be a 150-page graphic novel. It will feature a beautiful 300GSM silk stock cover and be printed on high quality paper packed together with a perfect bound spine.
Over a year in the making, Samurai Chef has been written by mayamada and will be illustrated entirely by artist Pinali.
The second volume picks up immediately where the first left off and sees the Samurai Chef continue to battle his way through the fiendish dishes cooked up by a series of fiendish chefs.
The funds raised will go towards artwork and printing fees for the first print run of the combined volume this autumn.
YOU ARE THE PUBLISHER
We are forever grateful for everyone that made the first campaign a success and saw the book featured in NEO Magazine.
Kickstarter is a great platform for independent creators to have their work brought to reality. We will make the second volume bigger and better and once again need your support.
You are our publishers and this book will only exist with people like you!
MAKING THE BOOK
We will combine the first and second volume into a single, perfect bound book. So even if you missed it the first time around you won’t be left out.
Volume 2 has already been written and we are once again working with the amazing artist Pinali who is ready to start illustrating the book the moment we hit our funding goal.
But we need YOUR support to make this all happen. You can donate to the project by hitting the green “Back this Project” button on the top right of this page.
You can also spread the word about the campaign on Facebook and Twitter with the hashtag #FoodFight.
We’ll start making the book the moment we hit our funding goal so the sooner it happens the sooner we can send the book to you.
This campaign is packed with fantastic rewards. You’ll get to see concept sketches, digital wallpaper pack, exclusive artwork and of course the finished book when it is done.
We're also including the Samurai Chef Origins comic in colour for the first time to backers £30 and over.
This 16-page prologue comic tells the story of a young Samurai Chef on his journey to becoming the food slicing critic he is today. It will be the first mayamada title to be produced in full colour.
Check out the full list of rewards on the right of the page and choose one that looks good to you. You can always upgrade your pledge level at a later date too.
If we exceed our initial goal we’ll do cartwheels! Once we've settled down we’ll outline our plans for stretch goals.
Our first stretch goal will be unlocked if we get to £500 over our goal: printed Samurai Chef Origins comic to all backers 50 and over.
If you've made it this far, you either read everything or just skimmed the page but either way, a big THANK YOU for giving this project a look and we hope you support us with your backing. If you want to help us succeed after you have backed the project grab a friend or two and encourage them to do the same; the amount does not matter but the their involvement does; the more people that learn about this project the better our chances of success. You are our biggest support in this.

We are also putting 5% of any extra funds we raise (after your rewards) back into the kickstarter community to help other projects like ours get off the ground. We know how much work goes into a kickstarter so we think giving back is the right thing to do.
This is made possible via http://kickingitforward.org thanks guys!
Risks and challenges
We’ve completed the script and require the funds to cover the artwork and print fees.
This means as soon as we hit our funding goal we will start the work. We anticipate the artwork will take between 3 and 4 months to complete, allowing for unforeseen delays.
We have run a successful fundraising campaign to produce the first volume of Samurai Chef so we’re prepared to deal with this project and see it gets completed in good time.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
