The Ultimate Shoulder Strap - Never slips up against your neck!

- Anything you can put a strap on!
Two years ago I was living in Europe and either walking or taking public transportation virtually everywhere I went. This meant that my laptop bag would be strapped across my chest almost every waking moment.
It didn't take long to realize that there was a serious problem with every single shoulder strap I had ever worn. When carried across the chest, the strap would inevitably ride up and press against my neck. I quickly found that the most comfortable way to carry a cross chest strap is perched on the corner of shoulder. The problem with that was it was inherently unstable... Until now.
I knew how to build a better strap but did not have the equipment on hand to manufacture a new custom strap. When I returned to the United States, that quickly changed. I pulled my sewing machine out of storage and tried a few different prototypes, finally settling on the ultimate cross carry shoulder strap design. A strap that I could wear for hours and never need to adjust. A strap that would never even touch my neck but rather stay exactly where I placed it on my shoulder.
The Binary Strap was born. I showed it to a few friends and everyone immediately wanted one. So a few of us got together and quickly moved to patent this as the single biggest innovation in shoulder straps since man first conceived carrying a bag thousands of years ago.
Different packages contain different hardware but it's all a very modular design so any of the hardware can be upgraded or swapped out for special purposes.
The elastic material that the shoulder component is made out of will almost completely mitigate the momentary increase in load you feel every time you take a step carrying a bag. This will make your entire bag feel lighter and more comfortable.
There are two versions, the shuttle version is actually cheaper because it uses less hardware, materials and labor. The shuttle edition allows your bag to move around your body, in front for easy access, on the side for walking or in back to keep it out of the way. The fixed or standard version keep the bag on a fixed position on your body depending on how you initially adjust the strap.
In the future, we will make available various add on accessories such as patch attachments, multi color hardware and straps, cell phone, credit card and pen holders. We plan to create versions in leather and of different widths.
We've been talking to factories around the country and now have two ready and waiting to start pumping out the Binary Strap as soon as we can get enough orders.
You will buy many bags for many things but this is the last shoulder strap you will ever need.
All rewards are for straps only. There are no bags, cameras or camera hardware included.
Although it could be made substantially cheaper overseas, I chose to build it entirely in the USA.
Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge in developing the binary strap was getting it's cost down to a reasonable level. It was also difficult to come up with a system that would not only work right now but would be able to be upgraded in the future with additional accessories to further enhance the usefulness of the Binary Strap system. Both of these challenges have already been overcome and the final design we settled on is low cost but infinitely upgradable. We don't expect any setbacks once the project is funded, we have a manufacturer all lined up as well as a back up manufacturer just in case of any problems. The only potential problem would be overwhelming demand but that is a good problem. The overflow manufacturing option has the ability to produce thousands of units in only a few weeks. A few weeks ago our first kick starter project funded and we've already got those products shipped out without a single hiccup. I've found that proper planning and communications with suppliers eliminates problems before they can even become a problem. Our biggest challenge going forward is just going to be getting the word out about this amazing new innovation in shoulder straps. This is where you can really help out. Once this project funds and the products are ready for sale, we will be able to feature them on our latest domain name acquisitions - ShoulderStrap.com and ShoulderStraps.com. Until the project funds though, we need you to help us get the word out on social media that the Binary Strap starts on Kick Starter!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
