As a hobbyist musician and a full time Salesforce Certified Developer, I couldn’t resist merging my two current passions and writing a song about Salesforce seemed like a good way to do that. I’ve been particularly infatuated with the hash tag: #ThatsWhyAdminsDrink.
On August 5th, 2014 I released to the twitterverse, a rough copy of my song "That's Why Admins Drink" -- so far the response has been overwhelming and more than I'd even hope for. As a thank you -- I'd like to produce this song "the right way" and have it professionally recorded. The original version is just my voice and my mediocre strumming skills. If the project goal is met, this will allow me to have this song professionally recorded and mixed by a sound engineer, and bring a higher level of quality to "our song."
Once recorded, backers will receive a copy of the song as well as other perks (see rewards). Then, if all goes according to plan it will be released to various distribution channels.
Everyone has been so receptive thus far, and with the encouragement of family, friends and others within the admin community, I'm officially launching the project.
There's quite a bit to earn in short amount of time. In order to have the song ready by October (for a national conference we call Dreamforce) certain monies will be due by August 20th in order to reserve my place in-studio. This project is open for 30-days, but if it takes that long, the October/Dreamforce deadline would likely be missed. This is fine as its a only personal goal of mine that I'm willing to miss if we can still get it recorded.

*A brief note about the T-shirts. The rewards currently say "large", however there is a possibility that both Men's & Women's styles and sizes can be allowed for. If this is the case, I hope to be able to offer your choice of item. I will try to keep everyone updated.
Risks and challenges
I have an internal goal of raising the necessary funds by August 20th. This will give us a better chance of having everything completed by October 2014. Should I miss that deadline, its likely I would not have a finished product in hand as early as I'd like to. However if the goal is still reached at the end of 30 days, everything will be delivered. It may take some time to get T-shirts printed and delivered, but that would be the only delay I can see at this time.
Please bare with me as this is my first foray into crowdfunding.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
