Frequently Asked Questions
If the project reaches the 180g clear vinyl stretch goal, will I still be able to have the 135g black vinyl edition?
No, sorry. ALL orders will be upgraded to the 180g clear version, free of charge. I realise some people may prefer black vinyl and in an ideal world, I'd press both. However, my manufacturer has a minimum of 500 units if I want to do 50/50 coloured/black mix and quite honestly, this is too many units for me to be able to handle, as well as making the project much more expensive.
In regards to audio quality, I am using the same manufacturer that made The Infinity Room, which was pressed on the same transparent/coloured vinyl stock. That record was very clean, with minimal surface noise and excellent sound quality. If there is audio degradation as a result of using coloured vinyl over black, then it is so slight that nobody has once mentioned it to the manufacturer.
If the project does reach the stretch goal and you are still not happy about being upgraded to 180g clear vinyl (which seems pretty bizarre to me!) then the best solution is simply to cancel your pledge and you won't be charged. Sorry :-(
Please note that for the people who pledged towards the test press version, these will be on black vinyl only.Last updated:
If you chose the limited kickstarter edition of the vinyl, you can choose whatever name you want to be included. I will send a survey after the kickstarter ends, collecting all this information. I will double-check to make sure everything is correct, as once it goes to press, I can no longer make any changes. Make sure you spell your name properly! ;)
In regards to your mailing address, I will ask for this just prior to when the records are due to be shipped to you. I can change this to any residential address you like, but for some postage tiers, it may need be the same country that you paid the postage for. For example, if you paid for UK delivery, I can only send it to a UK delivery address. If you're in the EU, I can send it to any country in the EU, but none outside of it. If you're in the USA or outside Europe, I can send it to any address around the world, as you paid the worldwide postage cost.
Hope that makes sense. If you are confused about this, just send me a message and I'll sort any specifics.Last updated:
Unfortunately, Kickstarter only accepts debit and credit cards to make pledges. I believe you can get pre-paid credit cards from many stores for whatever amount you like, which may be useful to make a one-time purchase with. Another alternative is to ask a friend or relative to back the project on your behalf.
Sorry, Paypal is not accepted.
I will likely have some copies left over, which I will sell on Bandcamp (and possibly Juno) once the record has been manufactured. If you can only pay via Paypal, then this will hopefully cover you. Please understand that this isn't guaranteed and if all the copies are allocated to Kickstarter backers, then I won't have any additional units to sell.Last updated:
Assuming there are some spare copies of the 250 copies minimum vinyl run, then these will be sold later on my Bandcamp page. Depending on the amount, I may also ask Juno if they would like to sell some copies, though please be aware neither is guaranteed at this point and if I do have any additional copies, they will likely be very limited in quantity. If you want to guarantee yourself a copy, then please pledge on Kickstarter to avoid disappointment.Last updated:
Only the test press version will be signed and numbered. The standard vinyl versions (inc the Kickstarter Edition) are shrink-wrap sealed and won't be opened to personalise them, sorry.Last updated:
