The game of kings, brought back from the dead with 3D printing.
In case you haven't heard, the game of 20 squares, also known as the Royal Game of Ur, is arguably the oldest board game in history. Found in the Royal tombs of Ur and dating back to 2600 BC, then popularized again when the British Museum released a video demonstrating how to play it.
When we saw this game we immediately set about designing a board of our own. We succeeded in making a board that was not only functional, but could also store it's own components when not in play. This set is designed and optimized for 3D printing and we've already tested and printed dozens of them. Free shipping in the US.
We want to bring what we've created to you. No false promises, no bait-and-switch. We simply want you to enjoy this game that we're already been enjoying ourselves. For this kickstarter we are adding diamond counters to the set that we'll be producing to enable playing the rules variation that was found on the stone tablet that enabled reconstructing the rules.
How big is the "Table Top" version versus the "Palm-Size" version?
The tabletop size will be 140% increase over the palm-sized version making it in dimensions much closer to the size of the original artifact.
If you have any other questions, please reach out to me. I hope we can get this game into your hand so everyone can enjoy this classic of classic games.

Risks and challenges
Each set takes a fixed amount of time to produce, which is approximately one day. So if this kickstarter is wildly successful it will be necessary to expand operations and increase production capability. I hope I have to deal with this.
The 4 color process for the mid-grade tiers has been developed, but not tested at the time of launching this campaign. Worst case scenario, they can always be painted by hand, but let's hope it doesn't come to that.
For the higher tiers, exotic materials can prove challenging to work with. Again, this has been mitigated by giving plenty of time to deliver.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
