Hello everyone and thank you for checking out our 8th Kickstarter campaign; this one featuring Boneheads Series 2! - Nearly a year ago we launched 'Boneheads' here on Kickstarter to great success. The initial goal: take our original 3DKitbash.com Skull Kits and turn them into 3D-printable models that you can easily print and assemble at home. The result of that campaign...
With the support of the Kickstarter community, Boneheads Series 1 was quickly built from the 'bones' of our original 3DK Skull Kits! Featuring 18 skulls in total, we divided the skulls into 3 sets of 6 skulls and included a bonus jaw bone in each. We really loved how the jaw bones turned out and that's a major direction for us in Boneheads Series 2. - EVERY SKULL In Boneheads Series 2 Will Be Accompanied By An Articulated Jaw Bone!
With Series 2 there will be some large-ish changes, but much of our formula will stay the same. Expect to see:
- 18x New & Significantly Revamped Skulls to be created.
- Skulls divided into 3x categories: Redux, New Authentic, and New Fantasy Creatures - 6x skulls per category.
- Each Skull will have an articulated Jaw Bone included.
- Most skulls will be 3D-Printable on a 100x100mm build plate.
Sets The Skulls Will Be Divided Into:
Check out the 3DK Wolf Skull from the original BONEHEADS Kickstarter in Sketchfab's 3D model viewer! The Wolf Skull is available to print for free on 3DKitbash.com, Sketchfab, Thingiverse, and Cults3D!
The Project Is Long, And Full Of Terrors (Pt2): Each of the 18 3D model skulls will need somewhere between 5-15 hours of digital sculpting work to make them printable on your 3D Printer. That’s an average of 190 hours of sculpting and development time! ...Ugh. :) We hope you’ll choose your reward level now and help us make even more 3D-Printable skulls!
Thank You For Backing Boneheads!!! ~Quincy of 3DKitabash.com

Risks and challenges
As we've said before, the biggest risk is that we might find that skulls skulls just won’t print well enough on and FDM printer for us to release. If that happens, we promise we’ll replace the skull with a similar skull that will print in a way we think you’ll be happier with. ...But rest assured we like challenging/fun 3D Prints, and won't shy away from moderate complexity.
We have digitally sculpted and invented for the toy industry for a decade, and we’re confident (and tested) with abilities to make these skulls printable on FDM home 3D printers.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
