1. Traditionally, 3D printers fall into two categories: high resolution printers costing thousands of dollars, or low resolution ones costing under a thousand. The Draken prints at 37 microns on X-Y axis and can print down to 10 microns on the Z axis, which results in printing features as fine as a strand of hair.
2. Draken prints up to 8.66" tall with up to 3.86" x 7.09" build base at 90 micron XYZ resolution, one of the largest and tallest among all personal SLA printers.
3. Because 3D printers can take several hours or longer to complete taller builds, it's important to reduce the noise pollution as much as possible. Draken makes almost no noise.
4. Draken is one of the fastest personal SLA printers in the market today. For other SLA printers to print a 6.5 inch Statue of Liberty with 100 micron Z resolution, it takes anywhere from 6 to 8 hours. With Draken, it takes less than 4 hours.
5. The printer frame is made of an integrated piece of high-quality aluminum alloy and sheet steel, which assures the stability and precision of the printer.
6. Draken is so flexible that you can easily take out the commercial-grade high definition projector and use it to project HD movies.
7. Our peeling technique in the print platform reduces the adhesion force at each layer separation and increases the printing speed dramatically.
8. For most SLA printers on market, the resin vat needs to be replaced every few months, because the silicone coating on the vat might get cloudy after extensive usage. In Draken, we bonded a thin Teflon layer on top of the silicon coating, which greatly extended the lifetime of the vat. You won't need to worry about frequent replacement of the vat anymore.

First, SLA technology’s cost is high due to maintenance and materials. 3Dfacture addresses these issues by modularizing components and using higher quality parts. Draken's high resolution is achieved through the high precision linear stage module, which is often seen on high-end semiconductor equipment.
3Dfacture’s engineering team has made great efforts in the past two years to develop a peeling technique, which reduces the adhesion force at each layer separation and increases the printing speed dramatically. Therefore, features as tiny as a strand of hair can be preserved during the printing process.
Draken's commercial-grade HD 1080p projector with 1920x1080 native resolution and passive peeling mechanism are keys to its higher reliability, durability, and speed. Draken's projector solidfies a layer in a two-dimensional fashion without mechanical movements. This reduces the likelihood of mechanical failure compared to the conventional one-dimensional laser technique, which requires rotating two motors continuously. Draken's resolution can be easily tuned without complicated laser alignment and calibrations by applying a bottom-up
SLA configuration. DLP projector bulbs usually need to be replaced at their service interval, generally at 3000-8000 hours of use. A flat plate which can slide is used between DLP projector and build platform is used to protect the projector lens.
Finally, our printer is modularized and very easy to assemble, maintain, upgrade, and manufacture.
Draken is an affordable, reliable and high-resolution printer, which is perfect for small business and personal use.
Draken supports major third-party resins. We have tested several stable resins for Draken with various properties. MakerJuice, MadeSolid, and FTD work perfectly with Draken. Furthermore, Draken's materials development team has created our own resin, priced lower than similar products on market.
Currently, we provide both hard and flexible resin of multiple colors and will assure our customers are supplied with high-quality resin at the lowest cost.
We are also developing castable resin, which is designed to burn out cleanly, without ash or residue and captures crisp, precise detail as well as extraordinarily smooth surfaces. It allows jewelers, designers, and engineers to go straight from a 3D design to a model suited for direct investment.
Draken has simplified the design of the typical two-piece control boards into a single control board, which is not only more stable but also extended the printer functions with more possibilities.
Due to its simple and modulated design, Draken is compatible with various open source softwares such Pronterface, Slic3r, and Creation Workshop, and works with Windows, Linux, and Mac computers. Draken is also developing its own software to add additional features for advanced users.
All printer rewards come with a starter kit, including a metal spatula to separate the printed models from the build table, scissors to separate support from printed objects, and a lens cleaner brush to remove dusts from the projector lens.
After printing, all you need to do is use metal spatula to remove the build platform form the printer, then snap the model off its supports, and use the rinsing device to clean the design.

Risks and challenges
Many Kickstarter campaigns can encounter problems when taking their prototypes to production. This includes issues finding suppliers and engineering products for mass-production. We take these issues seriously and have been working for months negotiating with suppliers and testing component quality. Our plans are nearly in place, and we now only require the resources to execute them. We have already placed our first order for key components of 50 printers and have constructed a few beta units to test, modify, and optimize our design.
Our priority is to provide our consumers with an amazing 3D printing experience, including the on-time delivery of units and product durability. Our experienced team has already taken steps to help mitigate potential risks and challenges. We will make sure every element of the Draken works perfectly. If any unanticipated delays or manufacturing problems affect the delivery, we will work diligently to resolve the problems and maintain open communication with our backers.
