The stories have been written, the art has been completed and delivered, and preliminary proofs have been received from the printer to ensure quality. You may wonder, "why pursue crowd funding at all if you are so near the goal and apparently aren't worried about recuperating the cost?"

With this Kickstarter we are hoping to cover the price of printing for the initial print run and celebrate the project's completion. Like all wonderful things, this book was a team effort; from artists to well-wishers. I wanted the KS step be a chance for everyone to participate in the release; there are premiums to be had, and signed-numbered editions for all who order. Its a chance for others who are new to the book to have a chance to celebrate the spirit of indie comics as well!

I'd be lying if I said I don't care if I make my investment back. But, more importantly, I want to set the example in the indie comics community. The project is complete, and all it needs is you! All money raised above the set goal will be divided up to the artists on a per-page basis. The structure will be as such:
For every $300 earned over goal, approximately $220 will be divided up at a rate of $2/page to each contributing artist.

Whether this amounts to $2 or $200 per artist is up to you! By supporting this project you are not only supporting our book, but supporting a community of indie artists. This bonus is intended to help them support their pursuits and reward them from using their talents to collaborate with other indie creators. As a writer, I appreciate the time they spent on my project, knowing that they have projects of their own (and other more lucrative offers) that they could have been involved with this summer.

If you love horror stories, horror comics, or horror movies (see a theme yet?), we are sure you will find something in our project that will wet your whistle. Appropriate for most ages, heavy on variety, and all written and drawn out of love; The Horror of Loon Lake will fit nicely on all horror fans' shelves.

Risks and challenges
Thankfully, the hurdles to fulfillment are negligable. The book is complete. We have but to slip in a few pages than can only be completed post-Campaign, and the file is ready to upload to our printer. The turnaround on printing is expected to be 3 weeks, at which time the mailing process will begin. Your pledge covers the shipping costs so there are no forseeable risks with shipping. We will be using USPS.
The Horror of Loon Lake is number one on my project list at this time. There isn't much to do but send it off into the wild! So I cannot forsee a hiccup in fulfillment. So, please, pledge with confidence and ask me any questions you may have.
