I have two of the castles. We are moving to a smaller place, and I have to make some hard decisions about the cubic feet I have available for gaming.
While I doubt anyone is still reading this. If anyone wants a castle. PM me, and I will see what we can work out.
Well he just sent out that e-mail about he was overwhelmed and his wife wants him to stop etc..
Yeah he promised me a refund several times over email...back in 2012...and 2013...
I wonder if the Facebook group ever saw anything with their breach of contract pursuit.
Yep looks like he is gone. I hope his kids don't grow up to be like this thief. I realize the world can be tough but stooping to level of conning people out if their money to try and make a quick buck is pretty low.
Bad news. Looks like his site is suspended. I doubt we'll hear from him again.
I just sent Nick a message, so hopefully I will find out soon.
Last time I sent him a message he sent back a reply fairly quickly.
Well unfortunately I'm out $100. I can only hope it went to a good cause and anyone that observes how the "owner" of this project handles himself learns to not steal from those that place their trust in his ability. One can only wonder when responsibility stopped being taught to kids.
just looked as i do occasionally at modest magic web page to see if there is any type of change there and no it appears it has been abandoned so that's not a promising sight i have yet to hear anything and i have tried numerous times a little communication would be nice
My terrain needs have been satisfied by other products by this point. Between Dwarven Forge, Dungeonstone, World Works Games I think I can give up on this one. If the creator has the ability to issue one, a refund would be appreciated. At this point, I'm only out the $35 so it doesn't much matter.
Another month and no news.
Also still waiting. Could you please update us Nicholas?
Well let's try the last comment's idea. Couldn't hurt, at the very least a courtesy response might happen!
Saw this posted on another kickstarter where a lot of people are not getting things.(The below post is what I copied from his graveyard kickstarter)
Hey guys, Ive been talking to a lawyer about getting our money back. Having a list of people who want there money back would help
Join this group so I can show there is a demand for action.
I have even attempted to contact Nicholas through his website to see about the possibility of purchasing something in addition to help speed up the process. I figure he may have blown through his capital and maybe a bit more might salvage something. I did not even receive a response. Much like the rest of this Kickstarter, there is zero communication. Let's face it, those of us that have received nothing have been ripped off. I doubt there are any legal options, but does anyone know for sure?
Wow. I'm amazed people are still waiting. 700 days for a couple hundred castles, what did we help him get a machine for if it's not being used to make castles. I mean, I paid extra cash to get mine, but knowing people are still hanging is pretty damn disappointing. I don't think I'll ever understand the math behind this one.
It's been almost two years since it was expected to be delivered, and no more updates. I know I only pledged $35, but I can't help but feel completely ripped off. The OTHER Kickstarter is suffering the same fate, it seems. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/397426799/modest-magics-card-graveyard/comments
Still nothing heard on my end and it's June now.
Just to continue the pattern in comments, anyone hear anything? At this point I wish I knew if I. Could just add something else and finally see something from this kickstarter? Thoughts?
Anyone have any updates? At this point it's been over 2 years. What is going on man?
Anyone hear anything?
Any updates on the shipping list?
Me too Jon M- got my two castles a few weeks back and I feel like my house is absolutely PACKED full of terrain! I may try to build a Norman keep 1:1 scale :)
For those still waiting on there terrain, I got mine the other day. Almost 2 years after the initial campaign but I'm now swimming in terrain.
Any updates dude?
That's exactly what I did as well, Daniel. It's obvious that the creator here underestimated some of the costs involved, so communicating with him and buying something else gives him the funds to cut your foam and get it shipped.
Doesn't excuse things, of course, but it was the solution that worked for me.
Glad to hear you got yours, Bradley! I think we just kind of snapped the parts out of the frames, and then clean up the edge if necessary.
Got mine this week!
One question, how do I best separate the parts from the frame? Should I use an exacto blade?
Anybody waiting: maybe try to order something from the store, that's what I did over a year ago and I got my castle then. But, that would mean yes, you'd have to spend more $.
Surprisingly not a single comment to found. Though same here, nothing at all.
Just for kicks, anyone hear ANYTHING about shipments? This has kickstarter had become the center piece for my wife as to why some kickstarters need more research and planning before attempting to raise funds.
any updates yet?
So how many of these have shipped, understand us international backers may be a bit Harder to get around too, and it's. A. Hard Slog, but will it happen?
I picked up my two castle sets in one BIG box at Gen Con this weekend. Everything is there, and it all looks good. Thanks Nick!
Any updates? I am itching to get my hands on this terrain and it's waaaaaay over due!
Ahh it totally is! Sorry man! I just got your personal message and I'll respond to that but I wanted to post a note letting everyone know there will be an update tomorrow. Things have been really rockin around here! :-)
Testing... testing... is this thing on? ;)
Also Nick, a question- in this picture in particular, you can see on the very left side of the picture that there is a walkway ending in a stair... and it doesn't look to me like we're doing it right. I couldn't figure out any other way to make the walkway end in a stair, though. Can you glance at it and see if we're doing anything wrong with that?
Check out some pics on my local game store's efforts to get the Alien City terrain which I donated to the store together:
We just did worked on that this evening, but had something like 20 people helping out at various times! We're coating it in "Jaxsan", which is what our local terrain guy swears buy to make foam tougher (and to texture it, we might paint this as ruins / relics). A lot of work is ahead of us but I just wanted to post the progress! I felt so guilty having this for a while without having been able to work on it, but it's a big job and many hands makes less work!
@Nicholas how is that revised timeline coming.
Also congrats on the other project successfully funding.
Sure thing! There will also be a revised timeline update coming out soon with all the reward tiers on it for the backers who haven't received their rewards yet.
Any update on when we can expect our shipments I see some are receiving them? Could you drop me a line with even a rough estimate on when I could expect mine?
Alright everyone, the new project is live! Wish me luck! I forgot how nervous this can make you!
I received my package over the weekend, and have spend a lot of the weekend removing the pieces from the sprues. It is a bit of a shame that the foam used wasn't blue, would have gone well with me watching Breaking Bad over again from Season 1 this weekend to be covered in blue instead of pink dust all weekend.
It is a very large amount of terrain. Seeing it first hand really drives this point home. Wife is looking forward to playing with it, too, now. May leave some of it unpainted so she can have a girl keep.
I see the wisdom in banging out some low material cost items, and the price range does make it something of an impulse buy option for a store. Best of luck. (12m30s) http://youtu.be/eOW6XJq4B7U
Thanks Kevin, I tend to forget to post on here as well as answering questions individually. You are correct about the tracking. I usually get email about a week before I ship to let the person know to expect the package and make sure that there haven't been any address changes or things like that.
Latest update indicates that castles are about 50% shipped. My understanding is Nick emails before the package ships with some kind of tracking information. I have not received mine yet. When I do, I will confirm as much of this as I can.
How do we know if we are supposed to have received stuff? Do you email us when you ship?
