In an increasingly interconnected world, it’s impossible to predict where we will meet the most important people in our lives. A block party, a concert, an early morning chemistry lecture, a ski lift, a cloud computing or comic book conference. These places could be the birthplace for a book club, a business relationship, or a lifelong romance. With Tap, no matter where you are, new connections are a simple Tap away. Start making connections today!
As college students, it can be awkward making new friends and kindling new relationships. Plus, cross-platform data sharing technology still leaves something to be desired. So, instead of complaining, we made a change! Tap is easy and free to join. Simply download the app, add your social medias, and start tapping!
Tap has been developed and is on the App Store! Made by a 5-person team (two in Atlanta at Georgia Tech, three in Rhode Island), Tap is fully functional and has been approved. https://appsto.re/us/MqT5kb.i
But we don't stop here - we have bugs to fix, updates to add, and new markets to tackle. Help us on this journey!
According to the world leading market research company Statista, in 2015, global mobile app revenues amounted to 69.7 billion U.S. dollars. In 2020, mobile apps are projected to generate 188.9 billion U.S. dollars in revenues via app stores and in-app advertising. More specifically, 78% of all Americans had a social media profile in 2015, up from 73% in 2014. This amounts to a potential market of roughly 248,040,000. The average person in our target market (ages 18-25) has over 5 social media accounts. While this massive number is ridiculous (hey, we can dream!), it proves that almost every person with a smartphone and a Facebook is a potential user.
Tap will revolutionize the way that people interact socially.
How We're Going to Spend the Contributions:
The founders of Tap have contributed $50,000 to bring the project to life The more money we raise, the further we can develop the app's features. By raising money through Kickstarter, and then in a later seed round, we will be able to accomplish the following:
* Update the "Tap Social Media" iOS app to V1.1 which will eliminate known bugs, and add some features
* Introduce the app to market through an intensive marketing campaign
*Launch the Android app
* Develop high-quality "SWAG"
*Experiment with product offerings in the enterprise market

Risks and challenges
Even before this challenge, members of the team have learned in past ventures that risks and challenges are inherent as an entrepreneur. A new competitor could enter the field, or Apple could bar us from the App Store. We hedge all are risks and take steps to prevent them, but any number of unexpected events could occur.
That's why it's the team behind Tap that will ensure it's success. Despite our relatively young age (aged 19-20), the Tap Team has experience in many fields that add to our knowledge, experience, and willingness to tackle challenges. We are not expecting the management of this business and product to be easy - and that perspective allows us to manage risk and overcome any obstacles that will arise.
