I got to play "musical Halloween" by scoring 2 films I acted in. Here are the results of the masquerade. Would you like to join?
*Update- Funded! Thank You So Much!!! CD's are being sent out, and very shortly you will have them in your hands. There's still a few days left to pledge, and I'm shooting for a new goal of $8K! This will go towards the next EP.
It's long been a dream of mine to score a film. In a strange, lucky twist of fate, an indie film director named Dave Boyle asked me to act in his next film. I'd be the lead character- basically a touring indie musician who is unlucky in love. Sounded good. I asked him if I could score the film. He said "ok"...
Well, here I am two years later, and we have two films finished that will both have premiered at the SXSW film festival (2011 and 2012)
and Daylight Savings I had the time of my life working on them, both as an actor and composer.
Writing music for these films allowed me to wear different musical costumes, and really stretch my imagination. It was like a musical masquerade. I knew I wanted the music to live beyond the movie, so I decided to release it on cd as a compilation. In order to do this, I've made this kickstarter to enlist the help of my fans to master, manufacture, and promote the film and album.
I came up with some rewards, all of which include a download of the music, some of which create opportunities for me to create new work too. It's a win-win situation.
I'd like to thank you for your support, and I hope you can see the films and experience the music.
By the way, the "Electronic Experimental Music" in the video clip above was created by Kurt "Peff" Kurasaki.
