2) Production

We’re totally blown away by the ultra-high demand for PowerUp 3.0. As we've let you know in Update #5 (Tooling Starts!), we’ve started production ahead of time to meet the high demand. However, once we hit 20,000 orders (that’s about 16,000 backers), we’ll need to start another production cycle.
That means that all NEW backers who join us now will need to wait until June 2014 to receive their rewards.

Today I’m heading off to China to supervise the production of the first batch and the assembly of the BETA units. I’ll visit the factory, oversee initial production, inspect the different components, and, of course, perform a first round of test flights with the production prototypes of PowerUp 3.0.

We hope you all had a good start of the new year. Don’t forget to check back for more information in the next update about how production is coming along. Meanwhile, you can follow my daily updates in my travel diary on Facebook and Google+ starting today, every day, until I return from CES in 10 days’ time. If you're at CES, visit me at my booth #36188 in South Hall 4.

      Q - @Robert Holbert
I pledged for an early bird basic package. Can I still get the 4XAA Charger?
A - Early bird is identical to the Basic package, 4AA pattery-pack has been upgraded to the Lithium 100mAh charger. it is not possible to get the 4A battery pack.

      Q - @Nick Martin
On the ‘Basic Package' is there a place on component to put the Batteries?

A - the Smart module has an integrated Lipo battery which you can charge using a micro USB connector (via computer, wall adapter or power pack)

@Jan - Yes, you get two! See "The PERFECT PACKAGE is simply perfect because you can fly one PowerUp 3.0, while you charge the other. Plus, 2 people can fly at the same time in dogfight style!" That answers your question!!

@Shai - Please could you tell me on the 'Basic Package' is there a place on component to put the Batteries? (I know they are not included) So in principle upon receiving it could I just make a Plane, add Batteries & then Fly it? Many Thanks For An Answer, Enjoy Asia! & Then Vegas!

    9. Creator Robert Holbert on January 1, 2014

      Shai,

I never got an answer to my question. I pledged for an early bird basic package. Can I still get the 4XAA Charger? I have at least 3 rechargable battery packs, so was looking forward to the 4XAA pack. This, while seen by you as an upgrade, is a downgrade for me.

      Thanks,
      Robert

Happy new year to you, too! Hope you had a good party.

I'm just curious... I pledged for the PERFECT PACKAGE. Are there really TWO complete PowerUps included, meaning I could use one while a friend uses the other? Or did I read that wrong?

Have some nice days in China!
