About this project
In Sigil: Powers of War players battle each other on a hexagonal board using custom decks of spells, unique units, and powerful auras in an attempt to destroy each other's Sigil. It is an action packed fantasy based strategic battle game with 4 customizable factions. It takes all the excitement of dice combat and combines it with pre-built deck construction that allows for multiple strategies for victory.
During our over 400 playtest, players enjoyed the following:
- asymmetrical feel of the different factions.
- the ability to control the battlefield with unit placement and strategic movement.
- the tug of war and coalition game variants.
- customizable faction decks with Warlords to match a player's unique style or strategy.
- the simple movement and dice combat system combined with the hand management card play of a card game.
- the variable power and command values of the Warlords.
Sigil: Powers of War is a thematic expandable card game featuring a board and dice combat for added levels of strategy. The goal is to create thematic gameplay with a limited and known card base.
The future of Sigil: Powers of War (if you all are willing and kind enough to support us) is NOT to become a collectible card game where the player with more valuable cards is more likely to win. Instead our goal is to become a game of deep thematic strategy where all players are equal on a level of custom deck construction but easily accessible for new players and all types of gamers. With this in mind every expansion for Sigil will be thematically based and feature two opposing factions with included cards listed. (i.e. Elves vs Goblins, Dragons vs Angels, etc.)
Please check out the full rulebook below and see how Sigil: Powers of War blends the movement and dice combat system of popular miniatures games with the turn structure and familiar mechanics of a collectible card game to create something new, unique, and almost impossible to predict. *Base Game comes with 4 decks for 4 players but it is expandable up to 6 with the expansions.
All pledges must be made in full by April 18th at 9:59 pm CST. We don't use a pledge manager—backers may NOT increase their pledge at the KS prices AFTER the campaign ends. Future pre-orders can be made on our website once we successfully fund.

We have developed a conservative production schedule working with our printing partner and distributors to determine realistic timelines for each task in the schedule. The project should deliver in the below window barring any catastrophes.
Dustin Crouch - Designer & President of Breaking Teeth Games - I have over 15 years experience in delivering multimillion construction budget and contracts to multiple types of owners. I know the pressures of schedule, the let down of false expectations, and the joys of success. Cain and I have been friends since we were children and most of our fun has revolved around gaming. We game weekly together.
Cain Myers - Co-Designer & Vice President of Breaking Teeth Games - Cain is a man of the people. He puts others first and always has a smile on his face. If it weren't for him this project would have stayed tucked away on my shelf. He motivates the team to think outside the box and to deliver a game that begs to be replayed.
Art: The bulk of our artwork was done by two artist Rastislav Le and Nakarin Sukontakorn. You can catch their art in many other card games, and I could not have done this without their help.
Development and Outreach Team - John Richardson & Alex Wallace
Video: The video work was done by Patrick Tohill LLC and the voiceover work provided by Robert Ricotta. Thanks a lot guys!
Playtesters - Too many to name, but thank you all so much for all the loving and sometimes not so loving feedback. It made this game so much better. Special thanks to Roll The Dice in Murfreesboro TN for the venue and TN Game Days for the launching pad.
Thank you to Jamey Stegmaier and Eduardo Baraf! They answer many of my questions and provided SUCH VALUABLE INFORMATION for someone new to this. I wouldn't have known which direction to point before I read their stuff. Thanks guys!
Risks and challenges
Dustin's background in Commercial Construction Preconstruction and Estimating has been invaluable to us so far to get the pricing and function of the game to mesh. The planning and project management of this endeavor has been painstakingly thought through, and we are confident we can deliver the product as advertised.
Balance of asymmetrical factions has been of the utmost importance to us and it has continually focused us towards the final card creations.
Of course there will be hiccups and complexities along the way, but we guarantee when the project is complete and you have the game in your hands you will be pleased.
We are offering a money back guarantee to all Kickstarter backers so that you can return your copy of Sigil: Powers of War (opened or unopened) within 1 month of delivery for a full pledge refund, no questions asked. We will even cover the shipping. We are confident in our game.
Even with Risk there is Reward. Please support us on Kickstarter and play some awesome games while you are at.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
