John Howie Jr. and the Rosewood Bluff are seeking funds to make our second album. Our first release, "Leavin' Yesterday," came to light in 2011, and since then the band has played with everyone from the Steep Canyon Rangers to the late, great George Jones.
We've been honing our sound with new members Billie Feather on upright bass, Tim Shearer on electric guitar, and Dave Hartman (kindly stepping in after the untimely loss of the legendary Matt Brown, to whom the album will be dedicated) on drums. John's songs, as always, run the gamut from straight honky-tonk to country-rock and all points in between, incorporating influences like rockabilly and southern soul.
The legacy of North Carolina country music is an extremely important one to the band, and we look to leading lights like Del Reeves, Don Gibson, and Stonewall Jackson for inspiration.
We're asking for $5,000 to fund our CD project. This will cover 7 days of recording and mixing at Kudzu Ranch Studios ($2,800) with Rick Miller (of Southern Culture on the Skids fame) behind the board, $800 for mastering at Studio B Mastering in Charlotte, NC, and $1,200 to press 1,000 copies. We factored $200 to cover Kickstarter fees and bank charges. Any additional funds donated will be used to promote the album and to help fund a tour to promote the release.
Without your help, we will not be able to release the album so it is up to all our friends and fans to help make it a reality!

Risks and challenges
The songs are written and ready to go, and the band has been gathering quite the local momentum thanks to all our wonderful supporters. Once funding is in place we foresee no additional risks and challenges. Once the project is funded, the whole process should take 2-3 months, and we can have our dreams into your hands.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
