About

Our International Foundation “Soul of Ukraine” is publishing a unique large format photobook “People of Maidan”, which tells the story of the Ukrainian Revolution of Dignity of 2014 in photographs and through stories of its participants, written in both Ukrainian and English.

This photobook could become a noticeable and admired addition to your library, a unique gift to your friends, or a stately gift to dignitaries. It is a testimonial to the selfless sacrifices and resolve of the Ukrainian people to get rid of the corrupt criminal government backed by Russia, and to establish Western-style democratic governance and economy.

The limited edition of 1,000 books is ready for printing, completed with a thank you note signed by His Holiness Filaret, The Patriarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the Patron of our Fund, and Dr. Borys Paton, the Chairman of our Board of Trustees. Dr. Paton is the oldest academician on the planet who, at 97 years old, is still the current President of The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

The photobook “People of Maidan” is printed as the best-in-class elite gift edition on the high quality heavy weight 110 lb (200 gr/m2) ivory linen paper, and is wrapped in natural leather. The size of the photobook is 17’ x 12.5’ (44 x 32 sm). It will be stored in a solid unique and memorable Deluxe slip case.

Our unique photobook contains one thousand high quality photographs taken during the winter of 2014 at the barricades and outside by a renowned American photographer and artist with Cossak ancestry Dr. Sergey Melnikoff, a.k.a. MFF.

Dr. Melnikoff filmed Maidan actions from the first till the last day of the uprising. All photographs are completed with original and emotional testimonials and memoirs of Maidan defenders and participants of the Revolution of Dignity of 2014.

The photobook includes 404 pages and will weight 15 lbs (7 kg).

We are offering the photobook at $100 a piece, the buyer covers S&H (for most US locations the charge is about $20, varies per destination, ship outside US as well!).

We need to collect $50,000 to be able to print this unique collectible edition that will carry the legacy of the Revolution of Dignity. Our objective is to sell 500 books to cover printing costs and to transport our highly acclaimed outdoor public exhibition “People of Maidan” to the United States and showcase it in most major cities, in all states.

The photographer captured the most important event in the modern life of the Ukrainian nation. See everything that took place on Maidan through his eyes, share it with your friends and help the world see the beauty of the birth of New Ukraine.

Risks and challenges

The author spent thousands of hours filming, selecting images, interviewing people on the streets, collecting stories from witnesses, creating and translating page after page, negotiating with a printing company, and, finally, getting the photobook into "ready to publish" state.

If we do not collect a necessary amount, we will be pursuing further fundraising through other platforms. Humanity needs to see these pictures. They captivate, shock and move people regardless of nationality.

The printed albums will be shipped to the US and further mailed by our volunteers from a FL location US-wide. For buyers outside the US, we will create special arrangements.
